Finished The Exhaust System For The New 2019 - Sucks For Anyone Living In Cali
As the title states,
I finished up the exhaust system to the point were I want it to be. Every decision made was through hours and days of research on gains, sound (InCabin, and Window Down), and Legality.
I do reside in county/state that has emission controls, so that was a factor in decision making, still better than living in Cali.
Exhaust Setup:
- EvoSport 4-1 Headers (Ceramic Coated)
- W211 E63 Exhaust
- Resonator Delete
- Secondary Cat Delete
Below Is My Video on A Cold Start, and Results
. Very happy w/ the outcome, did it once, did it right ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Why exactly does the exhaust setup you chose suck for those of us that live in CA? Are you one of those people that heard about AB 1824 and think it's some huge issue now? Now it's a mandatory fine instead of being a correctable offense, not the end of the world. Also, if you have the contacts and usually some extra dollars to spend you can get a smog with long tubes and no cats here.
I've been driving around in loud cars for well over 20 years now and have been in CA the whole time. Only once have I gotten pulled over for loud exhaust. That was when I had a 5.0 Fox body with no cats and dumped exhaust. The cop let me away with a verbal warning.

Probably because California is one of the most regulated states with their ridiculous laws to preserve the environment yet you still can’t breathe in Los Angeles

Any modified exhaust, even removing resonators, is a mandatory fine of $1k, and a visit to the state ref. Beyond that any modification that doesn't meet cali smog, will not re allowed be driven on the streets until fixes have been made.
Just have to be able to do a little reading and apply future +/- in dollars to grasp the concept that California sucks.

The law just went into effect Jan 1st, 2019, so any experience before hand is irrelevant.

Strange convo. It IS different now, and will require much more work to get past a stop if this is used. 1000 dollars if you are not up to snuff when you get to a referee. Doesn't matter if you went around the long way on the LAST smog test you got - the ticket will require you to go visit a referee.
STOCK cars could technically get this citation.
As I have said every single time this comes up - if they are not pulling over Harley's for sound - they its all just for the money and it could technically be thrown out under a look at "Equal Protection"

not sure. Have some legal contacts for the speeding ticket area. If someone is driving a 150db Harley and a 97db automobile gets the ticket....
