Angry 04 E55 Trade In value SUCKS,,,

I have a 04 E55 and was going to trade up to a 04 SL55. The E55 stickered for $84K. It has 3K miles and perfect condition. The dealer only wanted to give me $75K for it.

I am thinking about ebay, but I was screwed by a dead beat bidder last time. Has anyone traded a E55 in lately? They showed me a auction report from June 22nd showing one with 10K miles went for $75K.

Thanks

You got low balled, I was at one my Chevy dealers that I do business with and some guy with a 2004 E55 with a sticker around 84k was getting 81k on trade. He only had 1200 miles but either way the wholesaler who buys for the Chevy store stepped up. This is in California FYI.

what I would do is not even talk about trade in value, discuss the price difference of the cars...tell them to knock 5K off the sl, and then they can give you 75K.

My wife and I love to get in a convertible. The SL55 is sweet, but if I am going to get F'd on the trade then I am going to keep her.

wholesale at manheim is 78- 85k. must depend on options. you dealer is low balling below auction. common for them. sell it then buy used sl55 not from a dealer and they will not get any more from you.

right.... the price they gave is of course, which dealer was this??!! If you really want the sl, try negotiating the trade-in price vs. the purchase price of the sl as someone has suggested, or sell it privately then hunt for a good deal on the sl. GL

When I traded my 2003 C32 with 9K miles for the E55, the dealer gave me $40K and had it sold with in a week from his lot with a sticker of $49K. They know they can make good money on a low mileage used AMG because they can create the perception that it was almost "Starmark" certified.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Actually that doesn't seem...

all that awful to me, if it's real ACV. If the real MSRP of the E55 was 84--not some BS delaer sticker--then invoice pre-holdback was about 77, so close to 75 with holdback. And it has been titled I assume? Perhaps you guys have not seen what lease and finance companies are doing to customers on nearly new cars that have been titled now-- I recently took a bath on an SL with less than 200 miles that had been titled...and MB credit and most leasing companies hit the residual by 6 to 8 THOUSAND dollars over a new untitled one. When there is plenty of product in the system, you can believe that the dealer network is going to look out for its own. Truthfully, won't this be the same bunch of guys who will say in another post "it's too late in the year, that's too much for an 04, choose your color and get one with no miles"? You better just be glad that wasn' t an SL you were trying to trade back with those miles on it. Your feelings woud REALLY be hurt then. And yes, I agree that maybe they could make your deal work by showing you some more discount on the SL. They are nowhere right now. But really, most everything is. Good luck.

hey allen do not no how you got your info but any leasing company will take a pre driven, used car with less than 5k and 1yr old and give you new car residuals and money factors, we do it regularly, i have had many customers lease pre-driven cars for far less than new, only because of the savings from msrp, or the selling price is so much less.

tntmcj...

Make sure you drop me a mail with your info so I can try you ext time. Yes, I'm aware that many other lease companies will do this, but have you ever tried re-assuring a hinky customer that some other way besides MBCC is the way to go? You've experienced it I'm sure...thanks for the reply.
