Next week I’m installing KC with Tank along with my headers as well. I want to go to a 77 or 74mm clutched pulley not sure which yet. With headers I’ll probably see 1-1.5 less psi of boost. Even with my BWK I still get slip and I’ve checked my other pulleys all are fine. Talked to Andrew at ZPE for 90.00 I can get it machined and pretty much eliminate slip at the same time go to a tad smaller pulley figured I should try it, what do you guys think? I’m running a 80mm clutched now.

We have a 77mm if you like to purchase. We can drop ship it for you to ZPE

Highly recommend it

Here’s mine when I had it on my 83.7mm UPD pulley.

More then likely I’ll go with a 77mm pulley and drop ship it to zpe. Kinda worried with the 74mm.

Thanks for the feedback DAS, I'd been trying to find actual feedback on this for a while as well. I reached out to another member on here who had it done since I couldn't find any info on it because I had been thinking about this as well for my 72mm fixed (though I use the UPD BWK and don't think I get a ton of slippage, I get a very small amount of powder build up over time).

"I didn’t have any detectable slippage I just did it because on an upper pulley ,I think no more then 2 weeks prob 75 dollars all I notice now is a lot of belt dust from the machining ,if your not slipping I wouldn’t waste the money to be honest"

Got my 76MM pulley back today must say its nice. Your finger sticks to it unlike before it would smoothly slide. Andrew ate ZPE is super nice and very good work.

So what are the results? How are you liking the new pulley setup?? I’m between going smaller S/C pulley and a crank pulley ... currently have an 83mm upper.

I dont own the car anymore but i think its a must have mod if your doing a upper pulley swap. James one of my friends recently did hes and he seems to like it as well and is seeing higher boost.

I had it on the car for several months before selling the car and I didnt notice anything. Maybe size of pulley or length of belt might matter not sure. I had a 76mm clutched set up with grpitech pulley and bwk. I used a HD belt as well.

Anything special you had to do before shipping it to them to get that done?

Any reason to remove the bearing?

How do you like the 63 versus the 55?

Miss my E55 for sure felt like it was built better. The interior although doesnt look as fancy it to me still looked good and felt it was just built better. Power wise my e63 feels faster, for sure handling to me atleast is much better, especially steering feel and how it manages body roll but the car rides much more harsh. Its not as smooth riding as the e55 was at all. Even in comfort mode it rides much stiffer then the e55 in S2 and this is when it was stock. The torque of the e63 is nuts. Top end power I dont feel a huge difference and I think a fully modded properly running e55 will either keep up with my car if not pull on it. My car has had especially from the beginning huge tunning issues. There is always a slight miss or hick up that only occurs when tuned. Although it runs much better with the dyno tune i got. The car is still prone to heat soak not as bad as the e55 but still will heat soak bad. Just my experience and honest assessment so far. I just bought colder plugs and gap them once installed will see how she does.
