Well, I got my E63 back today, and I have to say that my interior looks outstanding, if I do say so myself.

I'm so glad that my long transformation is finally over. As this journey wasn't cheap.

A few days ago, when I was using the pressure washer at a local Shell Gas Station, some young kid in a M3 was checking out my car, he said that he absolutely love these AMG's.
He thought that my interior was brand new. He talked to me about maintaining an older car, his 02 M3. I checked out his M3, the drivers seat was shot, leather was all cracked, and tearing open.
Not a very well maintained car from my perspective.

Getting ready to do this. Will uninstall what is in the car. Just bought a non-Airtragic shifter panel to include from Ebay. Already have the center stack all out. Door panels next. No brainer as I need to get to the mirrors anyway.

BC928,

You could have gotten all of my old interior trim pieces for free, if you had responded to this thread earlier. My tech asked me for them, as he's planning on doing a full carbon conversion as well.
So who is going to do your carbon trim? Matthew Johnson of OCarbon in Tempe AZ did mine, and it was truly worth every penny and the two months wait. And then there's Nicholas Wright on Instagram, that also does the carbon pieces.

Thank you. The car is up on jacks with engine out work happening. Using my own parts is fine for me. Not a rush within the scale of weeks.

I was just going to go to the vendors you have mentioned and see what’s possible. I was also looking at your experience on the steering wheels.

That steering wheel is sweet, I get a lot of accolades about that. Ledermanz did an outstanding job too.

This is my daily driver 🤪 and the steering wheel is holding up great no issue. To keep the alcantara looking new, I keep a individual bottle of hand sanitizer in the center console. The secret is to always remember that your hands have natural oils that will be deposited onto the wheel if not cleaned. The carbon fiber looks as good as it did the day it was installed. Money I think was well spent. Also remember that if you don’t like the alcantara, Ledermanz can make it in either leather or carbon fiber.

Wanted to show wear if any

Took this a short while ago

As you can see from these photos, there isn’t any showable wear in the last 3-4 months since my interior transformation

So your planning on doing a partial or full trim conversion. I absolutely love my interior.

Full. All in now except for center pieces as I need to choose a head unit. Looks great. Matt was great through the difficulty of the wu-flu issues.

need to find something to cover the shifter handle that has wood on it. Not sure I’ll do anything about the steering wheel.

Well, I decided to keep my original shift knob, as it gives the car some contrast against all of the carbon fiber. I just wished that Matt was able to install carbon fiber on the roll-up center console cover. But it kept delaminating, so we agreed to just paint it black. And it looks great. I’ve only seen this carbon piece on E63 with the factory CF interiors.

Also Ledermanz and others can make a new steering wheel in CF, Leather, Alcantara, Wood or any combination thereof. But these steering wheels can get very pricey, depending on your design.

Anyway, I was hoping that oCarbon had the pieces for order already, so I didn't have to tear apart my car, and wait a few weeks for my new pieces to arrived, so that Eddie can reassemble my car.
But I guess if you really want it, it's worth the wait.

Hello , where did you buy the carbon fiber air box and cover ? Looks great I would love to get one. Did you ever get the carbon fiber trim ? I saw one on eBay but was to late when I wanted to bid on it

I have all these pieces now, and that interior would just be icing on the cake.

The engine cover and intakes are from Carbonio, the bad news is that they no longer manufacture these pieces. But there are vendors out there, that still sell them. The price is around $1400 Yes, I know.......
And yes, I did install the CF trim. If you look at posts 34, 37, 40, 50, 55, 63 and below, they are all photos of my CF interior trim including the Alcantara covered steering wheel and CF instrument cluster.
No need to repost a bunch of photos, when there in the thread. But since then, I added CF door pins.
