Just picked up a set of C63 mufflers including the resonator for $800 canadian which is about $600 american. Right now I have cutouts right before the muffler. Although I do like the sound, its just way to loud and the drone is horrible. Here is a start-up clip as it is now. I will post again when I get the C63 muffler installed.

Mondo, you want to have enough material that no matter where it's cut, you'll have enough pipe to mate up.
It's always better to have too much, that can be cut off. Than to have too little that has to be welded on.

Mine were cut right up to the muffler, but the exhaust shop made it work. I'd say leave at lease a couple inches just so you have some piping to work with

these are the ones i am getting. came off a wreck. the tips have been painted black, so i will need to revive the chrome, but otherwise they're in good condition.

planning to d the secondary cat delete and X pipe when i get these installed. i have been reading about the long tubes recently though and they sound like something i would like to do. not sure about running cat-less tough as i wouldn't like to get defected.
So I went to a exhaust shop that was supposed to be good in my area. They were saying all kinds of stuff like it wont fit or even if it does the tips will stick out an inch and a half more than they are now. How hard could the install possibly be? They were saying about 3 hours if it could be done. Can anyone chime in here?

That's what my exhaust place said in the beginning as well, they were supposed to be a pretty decent shop too. You have to cut off one of the hangars from the C63 mufflers on each side (our cars only have 1 hangar per muffler, C63s have 2). Then heat up and bend the other hangar to adjust fitment. They don't have to be bent much, but this allows you to adjust how you want the tips to sit or if you want them pushed out a bit for a diffuser, etc. Took about 3-4 hours total for mine
i just picked a place from online reviews and went in with the mufflers and he had them installed in under an hour. he threw in a couple extra supports for my midsection. there is a thread that tells you what changes need to be made to the C63 muffs to fit, you can see the bottom of the 63 muffs once installed but it doesnt look bad to me. i will try to find the thread.
so i paid for the mufflers today and they'll be shipped to me this week sometime. can reveal now i paid just AU$350 which is about the equivalent of $US230...
going to have to go in the shed for a little while till i can afford to do the rest of the changes i want though.

So I decided to go to the most reputable shop in my area to see if I can get these things on. They lifted the car and I explained what they needed to do from what you guys have told me on this site. They kept telling me there is no way they are going to fit. I was arguing with them to the point where it got heated. Then they tell me even if it was possible, it wouldn't even be worth their time. I am so pissed because I just want these things on. I really don't know what to do now. I guess I just have to keep going to every single exhaust shop until someone looks at it as a challenge and wants to take on the job. If not, I will be selling them..

I’ll try take pictures of my install for you to show shops what’s needs to be done. It’s simple install and aligning tips.

sorry, haven’t been feeling well lately but I did find this photo of install. Red arrow points out the new hanger is placed and excess get cut after final alignment. Hope this help
So the shop I went to had no problem at all putting them on. The only thing is they had to pull the heat shield off to fit the mufflers. I also go them to delete the resonators with straight pipes. I have a H pipe that the previous owner put in. I am assuming this since it doesn't look stock. Maybe you guys can tell me from looking at the picture..

Mines currently at an exhaust shop getting the 2nd cats and the resonators removed, so I imagine when I pick it up this afternoon I'll be saying the same thing.
