Question Supercharger Pully for E55

If I change the supercharger pulley to get more horsepower do I need to have the car tuned? I know that it woud be better if I do that but can I get a horsepower increase without doing that? Also, what pulley would you recommend for increased horsepower without additional mods (at least for now)?

Thanks

You need a tune with a pulley. I would first get a better heat exchanger.

I would also get a new pump if yours is old. Then I would tune it up, change the fluids.

After you do the above start looking for more hp. Do a search on power upgrades. Plenty of shops like Victory Road Performance, etc. will help you and steer you in the correct direction.

Try and grab a pulley/tune combo as part of a black Friday deal. I would suggest 83mm + tune for a good upgrade with minimal heat issues compared to the others. But as above make sure all maintenance and supporting mods are done first. I have used eurocharged and shardul a few times now, excellent service.

What power increase do you typically make from that?

Rear wheel gains on a dyno around 70 hp on average. You will feel game changing power with these 2 mods alone. Cold air intake adds about 25 hp more for another easy bolt on.

83mm + tune was my first mods apart from cooling. Hugely noticeable improvement in torque/power.

What's the torque increase?
Those are healthy gains for the money.

I’ve started my mods with HE, ic pump, 76mm clutched pulley. If I saw a major noticeable in power I’d stopped modifying and drive on. But I didn’t! The next month I swapped 82TB, didn’t see much. Then the following month I popped on cheap Chinese LTH and it’s like taking the red pill. Loved my car ever since, power, torque equal WOW! Night n day!
