Funny that they leave out the price. What does that tell you?

It tells you that they are a real business and not some fly-by night **** that I'm sure you have experience running. There's a big difference between a press release and the time when you release pricing information the general public.

And as Vadim@evosport said, if you checked the site where evosport lists their prices, you would see that it's listed pretty plainly.

Sure, you can go to the site to find it. But why not just list it? I usually just skip all the marketing fluff and go straight for the price. That's the first thing EVERYONE is asking when they read the ad, why not just put the price in there and make it convenient for the consumer? I suppose it's better for business to make the consumer visit the site and possibly find other stuff they may want to buy.

In any case, it's $1000 less expensive than Renntech........not bad.

I personally would like to see what the bottom half of the graph looked like after the upgrades were done. The run was only captured from 3,700RPM up.

What does it look like below 3,700RPM ?

The Mercedes gear box prevents you from being able to dyno the car under ~3,700 rpm in 3rd/4th gear as full throttle would cause the car to downshift into a lower gear. Upon exiting that gear, the car would upshift into 3rd / 4th and the RPMS would fall to about 3,700.

Thanks,

Ben

I think you deserve and apology from me. I was extremely harsh in my previous post, I hope you forgive me. I had no reason to act the way I did or post in the tone I did.

Well... The original pull in stock configuration was done from 2,600RPM.

Also, in M mode on the E55, the car doesnt automatically downshift. It only auto-upshifts if you hit the rev limiter. You just need to put the car in 3rd gear in M mode and run it through the RPM range starting from 2,500RPM.

I am most curious to see if it lost power below 3,700RPM or if it is a steady curve. The stock torque curve is pretty flat on the E55, so I am wondering if there were any effects to that after the upgrade was done.

How would power be lost if the boost is increased and fuel is adjusted accordingly? The owner of the E55 is a DocStone, a fellow MBWorld member. I'm sure he can help you with any drivability questions you may have.

It's very easy to lose power. Dyno graphs are a funny thing.. Peak Torque/Power is affected by how rich/lean your AFR is. Sometimes peak torque can be increased on a dyno graph because a tuner wants to highlight that specific characteristic so they run richer fuel maps, but it adversely affects the lower end power (robbing some of it). There is a fine balance when doing tuning, and I was just curious to see if this was the case here, or if there is an increase all through the RPM range.

vrus: Actually car makes over 520 ft.lbs. at the low end. Due to TQ converter flash dyno software will at times not print below certain RPM. This is what happened here. Now the car is up to evolution III, so the numbers are higher.

As we do more evolution I upgrades we will post more graphs of other 55 engined cars.

Vadim,

I am very interested in this kit as I have been looking into upgrading my car for the past few weeks. That's why I wanted clarification on the lower end of the graph. Any chance I can get a program optimized for 93octane fuel? Does the car have to have its ECU pulled out to be programmed?

Thanks!!

ones too fast according to CHP!
Thanks for the interest. There is a 93 program and you do have to send us you ECU. Pretty painless though as we get it back very quickly.

Thanks

Brad

Drivability of E55 with Evosport Mods

I had the Evolution 1 package installed followed by Evosport headers.
The car ran great at low RPM's in both cases. I highly recommend both mods.
Evosport is currently working on additional cooling and intake mods which should further enhance the top end performance.
