Looks great! Oh, I miss California
I hope we'll all be able to get out and travel again soon.
I am planning on making whole series of videos about this car where I will review it in more details as well as talk about common issues, cost of ownership etc. There are things I do and don't like — no car is perfect. But there is more to love about it than hate.

Trying to enjoy as much Cali cruising as I can, especially with literally no traffic. The wife and I are moving up to Seattle in a couple of months, but will be taking Highway 1 all the way.
Actually buying a G55 or G550 to build up as an overlanding truck that we will be driving and putting the E63 on a transport truck.

I’m excited to see some more E63 content. Personally I think the E63 is tons of fun and I thoroughly enjoy driving it. Not sure why we always got to compare the E55 to the E63. Seems like a waste of time since everyone can already read about that for hours and hours and hours on here...

I keep hearing about the 63. Never been able to get a good look at one.
Every time I see one, it just disappears in my rearview and then it's gone.

Lol now that’s funny. To be honest no matter what you’ve got somebody always has something faster...for me I use the E63 as a daily and have a supercharged e39 M5 for if I want to shift myself. I like both of them.

To be fair I do miss a forced induction car. I use the E63 for highway cruising mainly between LA and Palm Springs. I like that I can unassumingly cruise in the fast lane, but when someone wants to get on my *** I just use my right foot to leave them in the dust.
Once I'm where I want to be I just go back to cruising.
I do need to do a sound clip of my exhaust note though. Removed second cats, and an X-Pipe in place of my resonators usually has unsuspecting drivers scratching their heads... and my cold starts always put a smile on my face.
Love this car. Love E55's and any other car that the driver has put time into making their own... that isn't an *** hat.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I've left behind Mustang 5.0s and many more new performance cars from standstill who thought this "old MB" wasn't capable of anything. I had a fun "race" with W212 E63S AMG on a highway. Obviously who would have left me behind in a straight line, but on a highway, we're playing cat and mouse and he wasn't that much faster. When this thing is in a 3rd gear manual it moves. We then slowed down, rolled windows down, complimented each other, and moved on. Love dealing with adequate people who just want to have fun.

This thread is about the video review of E63. If one doesn't like E63s they should move on. There is absolutely no need to start comparing it against their E55, CLS, BWM or even Lada

It's not an iconic engine in terms of performance, or character. It's a rather unremarkable engine when you drive it compared to what you're trying to describe. It's not a strong engine. It's not even a well designed engine. I don't feel like regurgitating the posts from the past pointing out all the issues. The failures of the transmission valve body are enough to warrant steering clear of it, and the issues with the camshafts, lifters (fixed on the SLS), headbolts, etc. just reinforce my point.
You don't have to remove headbolts on an iconic engine. You don't have to replace camshafts on an iconic engine. You're putting lipstick on dog****, and pretending it's Cindy Crawford.
If you really want to continue this conversation I can even explain to you why the E series in general is a terrible car. Want me to ruin your car experience permanently? Respond to this post.

Funny how this “Non-iconic” engine is still used by AMG in their gt3 race program. Good thing they’ve replaced them with turbo engines, or rather yet move back to the M113. Been 14 years since the m156/m159 came out, and they still use it for endurance racing. I’d say it’s pretty iconic, and argue it has a ton more racing pedigree than the m113.
