Hello guys I took my CL55 amg for its first dyno pull. I was pretty impressed with the result considering it was dynoed in 84F Florida weather. I will redyno it soon after I install a secondary heat exchanger to keep the IAT's down.
I never dynoed it before the tune but I have to say those numbers are pretty good for just a tune almost 500 wheel torque! I think I would have hit that if my IAT's where lower. What do you think?
Only mod I have is a raceiq tune and the updated pump everything else is stock.

Not bad.
If you assume 20% drivetrain loss that equates to around 550hp/612tq at the crank.

Thats pretty crazy. As soon as I find a H/E that can fit my car without too much modification thats will be my next mod and after that a 76mm pulley, I would have done headers first but for the CL only option is the 3k long tube ones which are too expensive imo Originally Posted by Sulaco

doesn’t xsp make China headwrs for this? Also! 76 and a heat exchanger only won’t work. Will produce to much Heat still Originally Posted by MartinWake

Not sure if you know but the CL already has a beafy heat exchanger infront of the radiator so adding another one at the bottom would be a lot. at first I was thinking of going 77 without even getting another H/E since the stock one is already pretty massive. I recently got the torque app and the recovery times are insane for the stock h/e with the updated pump. I went 180 mph for a bit and it wanted to keep climbing.Originally Posted by AMG__POWER

Also I have the 280 supercharger which makes a little less boost then the 580 so a 76 for me would be similar to a 77
And no there are no china headers for this car, I even dmed lots of companies vrp eurocharged etc and all said they dont have for this one.
Think of it as if an e class has the bottom upgraded one plus the one you add infront of rad

I just dont see the point spending 3k on that plus installation for 50 whp its a good amount but I don't want to spend it on a 20 year old car I prefer saving the money and being a little slower.. but thats just me

We are making custom headers for CL55, We have started a wait list.
80mm pulley is a great option,

KC is your best bet for cooling

and yeah killer chiller would be good but I do not plan on pushing the car that hard and I want to sell it in the near future with everything back to stock.

In my experience, quality exhaust work is expensive and the cheaper routes tend to have compromises in fitment, usability and durability.Originally Posted by MartinWake

If your intention is to "save money and be a little slower" then leave the exhaust alone, IMHO.

Yes those long tubes are expensive but fit very good, The cheap ones do have fitment issues... Originally Posted by HLG600

Proper long tubes on an m113k are not as simple as 'do you want an extra 50hp or not.'
They help literally all your other mods work better, too. They help vacate heat from the engine more efficiently, so you get more out of your upgraded pulley/tune/cooling mods. They also make your supercharger work less hard, so you get a more reliable setup with better longevity.
I would also want very firm confirmation that XSP ($900) long tubes absolutely will not fit a CL55 before I wrote them off.

1,000% do NOT fit. I have said this many times. Our Longtubes for S and CL are a whole new header, Given that we sell atleast 5x the longtubes that XSP sells we have had many people inquire for S and CLOriginally Posted by Sulaco

Yes I agree with you 100%, I have seen dyno videos from 80mm pulley to 76mm and the hp does not go up by much if you dont have headers, but as soon as they do headers it goes up a lot. Originally Posted by Sulaco

The thing is I do not want to spend 3k on this car I don't think its worth it.
When I go to sell it they wont care oh it has 3k long tubes... mods don't make the value go up, in some cases it makes it worse.
Now I see that vrp and moscow supercharged are both making headers for the CL, if the price is right I will get them.

Is your raceIQ tune a stage 1 or stage 2? I have a raceIQ stage 1 in my cls55 with stock pulley and 010 pump with VRP secondary heat exchanger added. Thanks for sharing!

stage 2 just means you have a blower mod or other power adder Originally Posted by CDC55AMG

Long tube header dyno numbers hold no value in my opinion. Will they add 30-40 horse power...possible . But that is a number that comes from much more than the headers themselves so to me not very realistic.
Almost every one removes ALL the cats and resonator and just those by them self's removed add lots of power.

Yeah stage 1 but has the other person said its just a term. Just means the only modification is the tune. Stage 2 would be when I add a pulley or other stuff...Originally Posted by CDC55AMG

This is good that you now have that "base line" to start" with. Now you can see exactly what a pulley will do.
