Where to reset tcu hard limp mode in West LA

2006 E55, I had an issue with my transmission shifting into neutral randomly which threw the car into limp mode giving speed sensor codes. I swapped out the transmission conductor plate and the limp mode still remains since it needs to be reset with star or an equivalent device. I just have obd and can't read the tcu, but I assume the speed sensor codes are still stored on the tcu preventing it from exiting limp mode from what I read online. I have called a whole bunch of places in my area and they say that this can't be done and the whole trans conductor plate needs to be reprogrammed which I seriously doubt since it is just a circuit board and doesn't store information. One place even said that it is a security part and he was surprised they sold them to people. None of the shops I wanted to even touch the car.

So my question is, where can I go to get the codes deleted so the car can exit limp mode?
Is there anything else that needs to be done besides clearing the tcu codes to exit limp mode?

Have you tried unplugging the batteries for a while?

Yea I tried that as well as clear with obd but it still won't come out of limp mode. From what I read, it is in hard limp mode and the only way is with star or an equivalent system

I will check with a few more places and specify that its the 722.6, they must think its the 7 speed in that case.

did you code the conductor plate to your vehicle? they need to be married. you'll need the correct system to do this. along with this, the technician should clear any codes with appropriate tool.

You do not need to code conductor plate. I have replaced many on the 722.6 and have never done it...they are just plug and play so to speak.
The OP's problem lies some where else .

His car is (via the trans) in hard limp mode. Fixing the problem won't get the car out of limp mode alone, he also needs to get the transmission codes reset. I think since has replaced the conductor plate he can reset the code and get back on the road!

I experienced the same when i replaced my valvebody and conductor plate. the plate got damaged in shipping and the speed sensor was not operating correctly.

I used a guy in Palm Springs to turn the annoying SOS off, but that's 1.5 hours away.

another user on here offered to clear it with their scanner which I will do but now the car has a battery/alternator issue(red message on dash) so I will have to deal with that first. Strange since I changed out the battery and alternator a few months back.

Got the rear and aux battery fully charged (still waiting on the new aux battery), but now it won't crank. Relay and fuse are good. Just one thing after another with this car. I'm gonna wait for the aux battery to come, but I doubt that has anything to do with the starter. The starter might just be dead.

<sigh> Install relay switch in starter relay location in the front SAM. Turn ignition key to position one. Flip relay switch to on. Starter turns engine over, starter is good, problem is before the relay (key, EIS, ME). If you flip switch to on, starter does nothing, starter is bad.

Start simple and then work your way up.

Search, search, search!
