Agility Mode TCU tune - Shift delays left in shatters!

I know people have been posting about this in some TB hiccup hiccup but I thought not everybody will be looking at TB hiccup forum so wanted to post my review here.
So the TCU arrived this morning, of course I had been obsessively tracking it like a kid on Christmas 🎄 🙃.
Anyway I chuck it in and do the adoptions reset although I am sure the TCU had none stored! Its recommended to reset clutch adoptions in star but im too poor for that so ill just have to drive and let it change them on its own...
Back it out of the garage and into the street. Straight to A Mode and im driving slowly while car warms up and already I notice the gearshift are not mucking around. The car shifts immediately and slaps it into gear pushing the car forward reassuringly. The missus might not like A Mode so much but the lad will. Low/med throttle applications the shifts are immediate and sharp and you sure notice they are sharp. Since I am in suburbia at this point I switch to Manual as I want to keep the car in low gears and not be working with WOT kickdowns to test shifts..
Now car is warm in M mode. I mash the pedal and rev it out . press paddle shift up and wut? car keeps reving and rolling out a gear WTF! But i realize i have switched gears and I didn't even notice!! man thats trippy feels like a cvt at full throttle! tried it a few more times doing skids etc, man the shifts are so crisp I can barely tell its shifted as the car is such a beast! Going to have to get used to not relying on the torque limiting to hook the car up on shifts if traction is missing as I could do on the old tune.
Anyway only driven like 10 miles everything running great so far will report back with more post once more testing....
Oh and beforehand I had a weistec v1 tune which now I consider a paperweight, sorry weistec! Thanks Troy for your service and product!

Shifts for low throttle applications are steadily getting less harsh and more inline with how they were pre tune as the clutch adoptions slowly make changes. I've probably done just shy of 100 miles of town driving. Need to do some highway driving to work on the higher gears maybe ill do a road trip this Christmas 🎄.

- Pull back the front passenger footwell carpet.
- Remove polystyrene sheet from metal holder by sliding up and out.
- undo three nuts on the metal backplate
- pry off back plate by lifting up and away, it folds down from the bottom..
- Match the TCU unit with the one your received or pic online
- Remove 2 bolts holding in place on either side.
- slide out and unplug. replace and reinstall.
sorry don't recall exact bolt specs but they are reasonably small but if you got a normal socket set you fine..
I received his tuned TCU last week, installed it this past weekend, reset the adaptations, and now have driven about 75 miles. My car is bone stock, but this TCU has done all the things I wanted. Crisp and firm shifts in Agility mode (the mode I normally drive in), less shift delays in Manual mode, and a little firmer than stock in Sport - prolly just right for my wife. I can't compare this tune to any others, but it gives me what I wanted at a competitive price point. Thanks,Troy
Also you don't need to let sleep for 30 min on a tcu removal , these things being said are not correct.
Other person no need to remove the whole glovebox as just the plate removal is easy and can swap a tcu in less then 8 min from beginning to end ..
Agility (A) mode
- Much much much faster shifts, definitely a lot more forceful. I didn't reset the adaptations so the obvious bump on gear change might improve over time. It isn't uncomfortable at all, just my head was slammed into the head rest (in a good way) at redline shifts a few times. Lots of grinning.
- It is more likely to shift to lower gears when you *partially* plant your foot than the old S mode. I found that the stock TCU frequently wouldn't drop gears unless the pedal switch was activated.
- I still had the occasional scenario when it didn't drop into the lowest gear possible (used 3rd at 2900rpm instead of 2nd at the highway onramp) but I didn't activate the pedal switch ie 98% depressed pedal rather than 100%. Still heaps better than stock overall.
- When you use the paddles in A mode it actually does what you want. I found at regular cruising the stock TCU would wait sometimes 5-10 seconds before going into 4th gear, now it will do it straight away (as long as rpm high enough of course). The stock TCU seemed to love to ignore your upshift requests. Hugely better than stock, it is worth the money for this behaviour alone.
- I did a burnout all the way up a hill, smashed into 2nd and kept going with no traction.
