I ended up adding a insulation panel under the tank and then carpet was wrapped around the entire mounting board. The pump is mounted with protective walls for the wiring. The spare tire is still easily accessible. I plan to modify the original trunk floor to integrate with this setup.
The tank outlet and the pump inlet need to be close to the same elevation for the pump to operate correctly
Making progress on the kc install as well. The plan is to have the chiller setup underneath the factory cabin airfikter housing
I modified the firewall cabin air base to hold the killer chiller bracket
Had to make an air filter out of a 3m house filter and a folder. I'll probably try to improve the quality of materials and slot the bottom holes for easier filter changes in the future.
More rivet nuts to mount the kc bracket to the firewall
Mounted up and everything has clearence with the hood shut.
Got the windshield fluid reservoir fitted with the bung for the meth pump feed line. It was very easy I just deleted the headlight sprayer system and threaded in the feed bung to the hole where the headlight sprayer pump went.
The braided lines from the meth kit were too shiney so I wrapped them in conduit to help make them more stealth. Also protected all the wires and installed deutsch connectors
Made up a mounting plate for the kc and meth controls. It will mount where the ashtray is now
Inter chiller is just a much larger KC that’s why it’s able to perform better. I was one of the first to install a KC years ago and then many followed. I installed mine behind the distronic puck. Using meth for top end with the KC and tank is just as good or better as a interchiller will not work WOT.
I also don’t get why people don’t just remove the spare and put the tank under the floor.
Maybe it’s just me but I like it all blending in and hidden. KC looks stock unless your know, tank hidden, meth use the washer bottle like you.

This engine bay setup looks very good, nice work.
One of the goals with my tank setup was to keep my spare tire and all factory capabilities, the other is to make it look factory as possible besides all the junk in the trunk.
The Killer Chiller that I'm using is the newer "race" version that is roughly the same size as the interchiller. Ill be sure to do some testing to see what the results are. It would be nice to know if any other board members have an interchiiler installed so that we can get some actual comparisons between the two units. They both seem to be very high quality and the main reason I went with the KC is because its made in the USA.
This morning I'm working on the valve actuation setup for the KC/ Meth control panel.
Ill be running four valves/solenoids controlled by this panel.
1. KCDV Killer Chiller "Drag Valve" -this valve will close off the in cabin refrigerant supply and direct 100 percent to the KC
2. KCOFF Valve -this valve will close the KC off to give 100 percent refringent to the cabin air conditioning
3. HEV Heat Exchanger Valve -this is a 3 way valve that will allow me to choose weather or not the intercooler heat exchanger will be included in the intercooler setup
4. MS Meth Solenoid -this is just a safety device to ensure that meth/water does not inadvertently enter the motor
The configuration that I will wire these to the panel:
OFF - KCDV Open, KCOFF Closed, HEV Open, MS not armed
Button 1 - KCDV Open, KCOFF Open, HEV Open, MS Armed
Button 2 - KCDV Closed, KCOFF Open, HEV Closed, MS Armed
This project is starting to come together pretty well now.
The return line hole is drilled and grommet installed. The meth pump is mounted up and lines are ran. The cabin air filter cover is fitted and installed.
Next up is tapping the supercharger and intercooler for the meth nozzles.
I'm still waiting on a couple of parts for the chiller but almost everything else is here and just basically bolting everything back together at this point.
The supercharger is installed and the meth lines are ran although they still need to be secured.
I went ahead and did the valve covers again to be sure that they will not leak on the final cooling mod...
The final cooling mod arrived this afternoon and it is a thing of beauty, made in USA of course.
Glad to see someone really tackling cooling in what is to me the best way. KC or interchiller, trunk tank and meth.
I got the KC ball rolling back in 2012 and documented it all, then many started to follow that path. I am bias and perfer the KC over interchiller mostly due to the size. The KC is smaller and easier to place on the car I places mine behind my distronic puck and it blends in like a factory piece. The interchiller is just too big and seeing people’s cutting the crash beam is worrisome. It might out perform the KC but not worth the risk. My KC feeds a trunk tank and is perfect for street use and red light to red light. Great recovery.
The meth I used my washer fluid bottle so that the dash informs me when it’s low. I am tuned for meth and gained great power. IATs don’t go above 100.
I am running a 195 crank pulley and in Alabama heat and humidity I needed all the cooling I could get. Plus more fun to have power year round. People talk of cooler outdoor temps as the best time to drive these for the lower gained back. Why not just make your own weather?? Once it’s colder out it’s harder to get traction too.
I also have MBH LTH on my E and they are great with no rubbing or other issues. I am about to get a set for my G55.
