Dirty fuel injector Cylinder 8
CLS55 118k miles. Stock except PLM XL HE and Bosch 010 pump. Did my MAP sensor first thing this morning; what a way to start the day. Got done without removing supercharger or the left engine hoist. Had to remove fuel rail and upon further inspection I noticed the injector on Cyl. 8 was, of course, noticeably dirty while the others looked ok. Looking at the attached pictures, would you say I'm due for new injectors anyway due to mileage? If I am due, should I stick with stock or go 550cc? I have no info on whether they have been done or not by the previous owners. Also, this is my daily so the only mods in my future are LTH and a slightly smaller pulley (in reference to type of injectors to buy). P. S. Why are there 4 "tabs" on the orange ring of clean injector and 2 tabs on dirty one?

If the injector is dirty you can send it out or see if there is a local shop that cleans them. (RC Engineering does good work).

If you are going to do it, I'd send them all to get cleaned. You can also just replace the one clogged. As far as upgrading to larger injectors it is required after you hit a certain level of modifications, I believe it's around 600 hp but I'm not sure, ask in a separate thread. Birdwell or others would know. You could even call Eurocharged or a tuner shop.

Can't tell by looking. If you think it's clogged just send it in and get it cleaned. Might try yourself and see if it's clogged.

Its dirty on the outside due to the rubber seals not closing off properly. There are service kits for this. From your pics they look like the units I had on my Volvo S80, where I serviced them myself. I purchased the servicekit on Aliexpress, including a special tool to remove/replace the injector baskets (see last pic).
