It was Hans-Werner Aufrecht (A) and Erhard Melcher (M) who founded AMG in 1967. The city of Grossaspach (G), the birth place of Aufrecht served as the letter G. The city in which AMG was founded was actually Burgstall an der Murr and in 1976 the company moved to Affalterbach (located just a little north of Stuttgart, Germany) where it still is today.

How does numerous Bull**** threads made by an imbecile not constitute to even a warning, yet the O.G's and those who have pioneered technology and development of the 55k platform get cited and banned? Absolutely ridiculous.
Toadster: please, STFU. Takes 30 and search, I'm pretty sure if AMG was founded in 1967 someone marvelous genius would have bothered to figure out what it meant.
