E55 amg please help me coolant consumption
hello friends I introduce myself I am from Belgium I come to you because I need your help I explain my problem my e55 amg consumes me water I found mayonnaise on the oil cap I put them in the garage we changed a seal on the oil water pump then a few days later it asks me for more water and every 300 or 500 km I have to add water I still drop it off at the garage we have changed the cylinder head gasket water pump coolant drain in total 4500 euro I picked up the vehicle and she still asks me for water I just did 300 km today then I had no more heating in the car before changing the pumps I have heating in the car my the car is still consuming water someone in the forum would have had the same problem as me and did not forget the car does not smoke and does not rise in temperature Thank you For your help

No, the coolant is either going into the crankcase, which would show up on a coolant pressure check, going into the intercooler, again show up on a pressure check, going into the transmission from a faulty trans cooler, again show up on a pressure check, or leaking on the ground or inside the car from the heater core , again will show on a pressure check.
If it’s burning it in the combustion chamber it may not show up, but you said the head gaskets had been replaced. If all else is ruled out, I suspect the coolant pressure check to not be reliable. I would do another coolant pressure check.

combustion chamber I would have had smoke on cold or hot start and the car smokes absolutely not I think that when the vehicle heats up know that everything is happening and I think I have a leak somewhere the opening of the thermostat know that everything happens I will put the vehicle on a dyno and see what happens

Do a borescope investigation of each cylinder. If there are areas that are not covered dark with carbon then that is where the coolant is being burnt and cleaning the cylinder chamber while doing it.

OP you should be able to easily smell a coolant leak. Anti-freeze has a distinctive odor. Smell it when opening the hood? Look for leak under there. It is easily smelled when burned via exhaust. Leak at a heater core is also easily noticed. Leak into the transmission will make for a milkshake in the box. I hope that when the heads were off they were pressure tested, scanned for cracks etc. Our cars are old enough now that porosity in aluminum can be an issue.

Not necessarily, I have a phantom coolant eater that has the same issues as you are having. It is a 6.0 Chevrolet truck and it’s definitely burning it. No smell, no smoke, but it eats it. I know it’s either in the heads, or the block.
