Sudden Camber Wear/ Rubbing in Rear

Hello, as the title says my 2005 E55 has developed quite some wear in roughly 3000 miles. I am talking about the passenger side rear. The tire has maybe 4-6k miles on it. The wear is so extreme it's almost as if it's scraping on something. It tracks straight and no vibrations even at 90mph. The tire is a continental extreme contact dws06 plus. At a glance the car isn't slammed and if it were air suspension I thought both sides would be the same since the struts are linked in the rear. Anyone had similar issues or thoughts as to why this happened? I dont do burnouts and I hardly ever give it over half throttle. I drive like a grandma. Any help would be huge. Thanks!

Wow that is extreme indeed. It should be something in the suspension/alignment. Even though the airsuspension share the same sensor in the rear, you can still have height differences (air spring leaks, connection leaks etc).

I would get it checked by a proper align shop and work from there.

I would suspect incorrect toe.
FWIW, I just recalibrated my suspension after replacing rear air springs; minimum ride height while remaining in recommended factory inclination angles put my rear fender rolls at 26 3/4" to 27". If yours are at 26" or below that would result in extreme negative camber.
Let us know what you find.

One of the easiest ways to diagnose this tire wear, is to have an alignment done. This will tell you a lot of things: toe, camber and caster and they should be able to get you back within spec, before you buy a new set of rear tires.
If they can't, then you have worn out suspension components. I recently had an alignment done, after replacing my entire suspension with all new everything.

Exactly this, but better explained than I did

Yuille36 is pretty knowledgeable and a former Marine. So... don't let him see your crayons because he will eat them.

Yuille36 makes very pertinent observations. For the rear I will say the toe is adjustable using the toe adjustment arm but the camber, assuming all of the suspension components are in good shape, can only be adjusted by raising or lowering the suspension. Obviously, you can get an aftermarket camber arm but I have never been happy with the few that are available out there.

Not a former Marine; Once a Marine always a Marine. But, I'm currently retired. And thank you for the acknowledgement that I'm pretty knowledgeable. That means a lot.

If you take another look at that tire, one would say that is extreme wear due to excessive camber, but a lowered suspension contributes to the wear. And tends to add even more camber.
I would check your rear thrust arm and torque arms. These are the two control arms on top of the rear suspension, that you normally can't see unless the cars is on a lift.

Andres, post a pic of your car at its daily ride height.

for me...after a few alignments, replacement of parts for my adjustable arms, and dealing with tire wear, did learn that i pulled the subframe threads out of the body causing the entire subframe to shift back and forth causing increased tire wear. my last set of tires only saw maybe 3000 miles and are bald now.
