E55 wagon nurburgring disaster
i like to toss these nurburgring videos on every once in a while and finally caught a w211 e55! unfortunately it was not a good showing :|. what do you think went wrong here? at around 1:25 he goes by with the inner tire smoking then at about 6:55 with the outter tire smoking and loses the wheel.
on a side note - has anyone ever run through the ring? looks awesome and i'd love to try it one day

i'm no engineer but it seems like something more than open diff going on there. gotta be going ~60mph there and to have smoke billowing off the tire like that? had to have been in dyno mode and maybe riding the brakes in an attempt to drift? also wondering if the wheels were not the correct hub size and the lug bolts finally gave up after getting abused

I occasionally take my E55 there too. I did a lap last Monday too, but my tires and brakes are not that good, so I'm waiting to change those, before doing more laps.

Turning ESP off does not disable the car applying brakes to a spinning tire to act as a ‘limited slip’ but would certainly make for some hot rear brakes.
