Would be interesting to see if there are any shared axels between the E55 and other cars, or something that can be adapted.

In a word - No. The 211/219 platform with either the M113K or M156 engine uses the 211 350 11 56 axles, which is not used on any other models.

So axels from a E63 would be compatible with an E55 then?

I know for a fact the rear differential from 2004 up is the same for axle size as an E63 since I have swaped diffs so I am going to say yes the axles should be the same.
I have been looking as well .

One of the junkyards nearby just got one a couple days ago, but it looked pretty trashed from the pics they posted. I'm still considering going to see if the axels are worth pulling.

Right on. Just wanted to clarify because you had stated in a previous comment that it wasn’t utilized on any other platform.

True, but I consider our C219 platform the same platform as the w211, just with different sheet metal.

i believe the 03 axles are different than 04 up. If I’m not mistaken those axles utilize bolts to mount it to the diff. 04 up the axle shaft is one piece and just slides in

Yes, the 03 axles (I'm not sure of the exact date run change) are different than the 04 and up. They are bolted to a flange on each side of the differential. I have an early 04 and have the later one piece shafts that slides in the sides of the differential and locks in place with an internal c-clip type retainer.

I found a kit online as well as a good YouTube video that utilizes a universal CV Boot Kit. You cut out/off the old boots and slide (stretch) on the new ones. Working on removing the shaft right now.

Which axle do you have, the one that bolts on or the one that slides in? Bolt on looks like it has a new part# 2113501502. Can find them new for around $750.

The part #'s should be stamped on the boots themselves. The clamps are Oetiker clamps and will have the size stamped on them in MM.

When my front cv axle boots on my W204 were torn and leaking grease I took them apart, cleaned everything and installed new boots. The boots and clamps were pretty cheap at my local MB dealer. Cheaper than aftermarket boot kits. Water must have gotten in and ruined the grease it all needed to be removed.

While looking for the part #'s for other things like the circlips I couldnt find them listed on any W204 parts diagrams but I realized they share the same parts with S-class cv axles and was able to get the part #'s from those parts diagrams.

The new clamps are supposed to be tightened down a specific dimension. I bought 3 different pliar type clamping tools and still could not clamp them tight enough. Ended up buying a small vise type tool on Amazon for less than $20 that worked fantastic with the Oetiker clamps.

Clamp below is 93mm OE (Oeitker)

Thanks for the response. I have the slip in. I have everything out and cleaned up now. Just waiting on the new boots to arrive later today. I will give theses a try. If not, I will take the old one to the dealer and see if I can't match them up better.

I do have the pliers for the clamps. If they are not able to crimp down the clamps, then I have some other ideas or I'll just pick up the device you mentioned.

Im curious if there are part #'s stamped on the boots and on the boot caps?

I bought 2 different Oetiker tools and even tried the pliars that you can attach breaker bars to and couldnt get it down to 2.5mm. Plus when I replaced the boots I left the inner hubs in the car so had to clamp the inner boots while under the car. The MB clamps are heavy duty and specs show an enormous amount of force of 5,000 newtons needed to close them. I had to look it up and thats 1,124 lbs of force.

Amazon tool made the job easy. In the MB manual it looks like they are using a similar tool but its expensive.

Finished up CV Boot replacement job this morning which included a successful test drive. Overall it went very smoothly, but not without the proper tools. I ended up buying the proper
clamping tool clamping tool
for the boot clamps as recommended above and also a
CV Boot CV Boot
pneumatic expander tool. Without those two devices, this would have never gotten done. All for under $100.

Thanks to this site and members for the assistance.
