E55 Marketing Ideas/Regional Track Day
LOOKING FOR YOUR IDEAS/INPUT
I was thinking that it would be interesting to have a face to face/tire to tire track day where vendors could come and display there wares.
We would have to do this regionally and in decent weather.
There would be the cost to rent the track (cheaper during the weekday), we could have food catered in and have a vendor/some vendors sponsor the event.
Ideally we could drive our own cars. Run the 1/4 mile. Drive other's cars (maybe even drive some modified supercars from the sponsoring vendors).
Please put you ideas/interests on future posts and make them as short and sweet as possible.
One rule: THERE ARE NO BAD IDEAS.
This post is not to evaluate them, just to list them. Please follow that mindset when posting.
Thanks and hopefully we can create an idea/concept that allows us all to get togethere and run these fabulous machines in the near future.

We could do it here in Indianapolis and host it around the F1 Formula One event. Lots of MB dealers and people in town then.

The Tire Rack is in South Bend Indiana. I would think that with a large crowd they would come and display their stuff. Maybe even offer a technical/informative presentation.

The owner of the local MB Dealership--Worldwide Motors is a friend of mine--he would come and may/may not offer other new MB models to drive.

We could try to tie it into a MBSpeed Event or an MB AMG driving event. Day 1 could be the AMG Factory event. Day 2--run what you brung

I drive a E55T, SLK55 and 65 Mustang Conv.
Hi all,
Heck, if you can pull off even half of this stuff I might have to send my husband even if I couldn't make it. Sounds like a total blast!

Now that we could both make it to though I'm not certain our SLK would make it. If it's after 12/05 we'd have the E55 wagon

What are the characteristics of a good location?
Road Course?
Good Climate so we could meet just about any time of the year?
Ability to go fast?
Smart geographic location? (I like the Vegas idea). Perhaps we need to think about doing a couple of these in different parts of the country (VEGAS, Somewhere on the NorthEast Coast?, Somewhere on the South East Coast?, Texas? and the Midwest?)
I only offered Indianapolis as I thought there would be lots of potential people (from MB and the international F1 Fan base) who might want to attend and therefore make for a well attended event. No bad ideas--just some that are better than others.
Have car, will travel.

Do you belong to the Mercedes Benz Club of America (MBCA)? Your local chapter should have some events scheduled.
I belong to the Greater Washington section (Northern VA, DC, & MD) of MBCA. In addition to 9 autocross events, our club is hosting a couple track events. The better track event will be at VIR (VA Int'l Raceway) co-hosted with the Audi & BMW clubs Thur June 16 & Fri June 17th.
Here is a link to the list of all the MBCA regions and local chapters of MBCA so you can look for events in your area.

a lot of good ideas here. sort of a track day, throw in a drag strip if it's at the same complex with lessons available for both track and drag. Get vendors for high performance and aftermarket equipment and maybe even invite MG/AMG. And let's make it a two day event!! Vegas or somewhere out west is best for me but I'll go with whatever works. Maybe have two events, one closer to the east coast and the other in Vegas. mp
