Honestly dude, from all the research I have done....it's only good for a few HP and 476/490 (whichever you believe 55's have) to 480/495 really isn't noticeable.

Using info from Hot Rod test of high octane fuels on the dyno.....actually it was racing gas so you might not even get that much HP.

Just my humble....some will differ and that's okay.

I've run both 100 and 105 octane. Heard it can damage the oxygen sensor. Never saw any gains with it so haven't done it since.

If the 100 octane was unleaded it will not harm your 02 sensors. Only leaded racing fuel will harm your 02 sensors.

If you want to increase the octane rating in your fuel and create better combustion, just drop some pure methanol into your gas tank.

I am not sure what the proper ratio of fuel/methanol should be, but it is cheaper and should be easier to find than race fuel.

Talking More HP

leadfoot - Anything over 94 Octane Unleaded Fuel the ECU can not advance the timing enough to take advantage of the added octane, so 100 Octane fuel is not necessary with OEM programming in the ECU. Reprogram the ECU for the 100 octane race fuel and more boost and you will be able to take adavntage of the added octane, however you will need switchable ECU programing ability to be able to run pump gas when you are not running race fuel. You will also need the ability to switch cleanly between the fuels which requires an oxcilliary fuel tank for the race fuel and some solenoid valves, fuel lines, and some electrical work. - Bob

Derek,

Unleaded 100 or 104 octane cannot damage the oxygen sensor. Leaded can.

I ran tanks of 93 octane and 100 octane back to back at Sebring and couldn't tell the difference. Save your money.
