The ones designed for the current C will fit the W212.
But you will need to modify a bit while installing.

FYI, I bought the one from gominigo.
You just have to bend the metal frame a little while installing. Nothing major.

What I did was take a zip tie, threaded through the hole of the plate, through a hollow plastic spacer, around the mesh grill, then back through the spacer and the plate hole again. I zipped it tight and then clipped the ends (still need to trim more). I used longer spacers on the bottom so the plate looks flush. Let me know what you think, all parts available at home depot for about $4.00

I'd have preferred black spacers but they didn't have any.

Let me know what you think.

I ordered the one for the 63 from one of the venders mentioned above and it does not work!!! at all! i am going to need to buy many washers because our tow hook seems much deeper than the C classes, when mine went all the way in i had to unscrew a lot to use it. Then it isn't tight and the plate moves with ease . Also u can see where the tow hook cover is off/ it doesn't cover the hole. I am going to try and mod it and see what happens.

You can only buy it for a C, and i have it and it doesn't work. Maybe for a regular E but not for my 63. what mods did you have to do? looks like its gonna need a couple big washers

So I ordered the gomingo kit. I actually measured out the distance from the bumper edge to the tow hook screw. I spoke with their sales guy and he sent the kit with an extension arm. I did use all the washers and got it to fit. It did take a little bending but it works great.

I talked to Jason at Gominigo. He is solid and was very helpful.

Btw, I also used the offset bracket. I guess if you used the standard bracket, it would have fully covered the hole.

Attached are some pics of what it looks like installed. Sorry they are blurry, blame it on my cell phone :P

Looks like I was dumb.. I placed the offset bracket in the wrong direction. That is why I had to bend it. It should actually point the other way.

eurowerx - did you get yours setup ok?

What I saw there, you just disabled the parktronic with the tow-hook license plate holder on
I was trying to go the same route, but the parktronic problem makes me worried.

I'm glad I'm no longer live in the NJ/NYC area or in a state that requires the front plate. Got two no-plate tickets while in NJ back then, one in Kearny and one in Newark.

My car doesn't have parktronic so I never encountered an issue. Plus I just put the front plate on to get the ticket signed off and then took it off right afterwards.

I would recommend calling the guys at Gomingo - they were really helpful!

2010 e63
thank you for the ideas

Hello,

I am new to this forum and and a new owner of a 2010 e63. I am in California, so front license plates are a must, especially in Los Angeles. I used twowheelmarc's idea and went a little farther by using j-bolts with aluminum spacers and capnuts to clean it up. I didnt have to take off the bumper or drill any holes. hopefully the image i uploaded shows ok.
