If your close to the valley the service guys at Keyes are great. Im friends with the service manager there, who was my advisor, also AMG certified advisor. He's passed me off to another guy who has been good so far. My wife has been going there since her SLK back in 2003, Ive brought all my cars there e350, cls500, and now the 63. if you go ask for David Floodquist, Bryan with the silver e63 sent you

fwiw, the following MB dealers are authorized AMG Performance Centers in the LA area.

Keyes
Penske (West Covina)
Beverly Hills

Before I moved out of LA, I had Paul Hawley as my SA at Beverly Hills. He was an enthusiast and nice guy. But apparently he went to another dealer not too long ago.

I also had okay dealings with WI Simonson in Santa Monica. Armand Loukasians was my SA back then and he's now the service manager. Their shop foreman is Mike Hawker and he's an old timer who seemed to always know his stuff.

The reason why I want to change SA too is because I want to do after market exhaust (Catless) and ECU tune. *havent done it yet* When I was talking about it with my friend at DTLA service, my service adviser over heard and told me they will start voiding stuff from my warranty. I know a lot of member's here on mbworld mod their cars. Thanks to all that responded with their great experiences with other SA's. Honestly, I'm done with DTLA. Maybe Encino, Keyes, or Beverly Hills. I'm out in Calabasas area now so those are the closes places to me.

LA Downtown MB is the SuXoRs!!!

My reason... Basically long story short...

I bought a CPO 2008 E350. Had it for 3 weeks and it overheated. Overheated about 7 different times. All of my 3 visits to LA Downtown MB, they blamed it on rodent damage and could never correct it.

Eventually I lemon-law'd it and got my money back minus all of the service work that came out to about $2,500.00. All because LA Downtown MB blamed it on the rodents, an external factor that was not covered by my CPO. Had some dip named Jake the service advisor, the head service manager, and some real short guy who was the head service mechanic all fail.

Avoid LA Downtown MB at all costs...

I won't be dealing with Downtown M-B for sure!! I actually went there to look for a new (Used) Benz after I sold my W220, and their prices were through the roof, and they seemed to be relatively unfriendly (just a vibe I got, the Salesman was meh).

Catless exhaust is a big step and gamble in CA. If you get pinched, it's a sh*tload of a fine. Not to mention, the environmental and pollution to our breathing hazards that you'll be contributing to. I don't know how it works with SA's though. Technically a catless exhaust has nothing to do with many things that can go wrong under Warranty, obviously.

Why don't you go to Calabasas M-B BTW?

I've had good experiences with M-B Encino, can't really complain at all.

penske west covina is great. We've purchased several cars from them and they're service is always great. And they have AMG certified techs too. (every dealer says they have them, but there are different levels and different models, penske WC has good ones!)

Also, there's Robert Rogers at Arcadia, Rusnak. He's good. :-)

I bought a new car from them back in Oct 2008. No nonsense deal; all went very smooth. Of course it was at a time when the economy had just taken its big tumble and they were really happy to see someone walk through the door. I walked in, pointed at the car I wanted and gave them my best offer. Came back a few days later and drove it home.

Never had service done with them, though.
