My car reacts with noticable difference after I started driving very aggressively (rear tires were totally bald around 6k miles) since breaking in the engine.
With much higher torque at low RPM on 12' model, I think the car would have more fun to drive aggressively at lower speed...........I am getting more and more interested in the new TT engine.........

and if i buy a used model, how do i delete the memory of the first driver
My guess the two more obvious factors that ECU will adjust are ==> 1). transmission shift timing and 2). how much time delay from gas padle input unitl the engine responds to it. There could be more parameters that ECU may adjust.
Still waiting for a chance to test drive '12 model at one of the dealers in Chicago (think they still have two of them). Maybe I will find one to test drive when I go visit my folks in SoCal this next week.
im wondering, lets say price was identical, and specs were identical,
why buy one car vs the other, 2011 e63 vs 2012,
would it narrow down just to the torque being more available early, because besides that, the cars are the same
oh and the electric steering or whatever,
i guess im wondernig if i go for a 2011 E, new, how much shouldl iask off msrp
I'd expect at least $20k off MSRP on a 2011 without even trying to talk them down. There is even a brand new one on eBay that is like $18-19k off MSRP. I sent them a question unrelated to price and they offered to take another $1k off. I think it might even still be on there, it was in Virginia though or some other place on the East coast. Personally I'd not buy one unless it was $30k off but I'd want to save on the $20k or so depreciation, the $4-5k P2 cost(since it is already on the 2012s at no real cost difference), and then something on top of that for the model year differences. But of course that puts me right in the neighborhood of CPO cars with around 10k-15k miles on them. So highly doubt they'd drop it that far plus I'd be better off getting the CPO car for the added warranty anyway. Since the extended warranty seems to cost so much and I think goes to less miles than a CPO and even seems might not be available on AMG cars any more.
alot of 2010 cars ive seen were purchased in nov 2009 , so the 5 yrs isnt all that long, sure u get miles but i think the yrs is more important, alteast for my driving so far
ive seen a "new" dealer car, very nice with 5000 miles on it for 88K, i think still way too much even with designo paint

That "new' car you are referring to, was it the blue PP equipped one in Texas? If so then I drove it and their ads are wrong, it does not have 5k miles but instead 2.4k miles. That dealer is notorious with over pricing their cars. When I first started looking at these cars another dealer here in town had a used E63 with 89 miles on it and for $89k, it had more options than the blue car and was CPO'd. That blue car they will CPO if someone is willing to pay another $2.5k.
The new black eBay car I mentioned was $83k on eBay and like I said they dropped to $82k without me even bringing up the price of the thing. That made it almost exactly $20k off the MSRP. I'd made an offer on that one but have to wait 1-2 months to know if we are going to move overseas or not.
I just tested a 2011 new without premium 2. Only p1
They stickered for 92k$$
I can't recal what p2 gives u in the 2011 car
I then drove the 2012 wagon. Tru. No third row. Options were wheels. Carbon and lane assist for 97
They said they would make a great deal on the 2011. No sure if that means 10 off or 5 off as he was vague when I askwd
Only reason I even want P2 is for the headlights, outside that I could care less so did not really commit to memory what all it included on the pre-2012 cars.
btw, the 2011 felt quicker than the TT,
we tried to get the ECO stop to work, button was on, and pressed on the brake at stops but the engine stayed on? wierd, and we were in C mode
