Thought I would share my big mistake...
About 2 months ago, I find a good deal (and it was) on an 06' BMW M3...very nice shape, all stock, 50K miles. I drive it, very nice & handles unbelievable, I "impulse" buy the car. So, I then take it on a long highway trip....now I usually take the family boat (GL550), but I am enjoying my new toy. Now BMW did a very good job w/ this little car, the little inline 6 screams for what it is...I then attempt to get "comfortable", not happening....I then decide to crank up the radio..sounds terrible, I then get off the highway (mistake) and need to drive through some poor road conditions .
What put the icing on the cake, i am returning from this little trip the next day..a nice C63 pulls next to me and provokes, knowing I shouldnt...I downshift & stab it...i will end that part of the story there
Anyways, I then take the GL for a ride a few days later...yeah, made a mistake!
Currently looking at a very clean 07' E63, going to get bruised a little on the M3 however one must admit to their mistakes Thought i would share as it looks like I will be joining this part of the forum shortly. And in all fairness, the M3 is a great little car.....it just isn't a Benz.

I had leased a BMW for my wife on our return back from china back in 2005 while I bought myself my E55. The BMW was just too much "at one with the road" for both our tastes. We ended the lease a year early and bought her a C300 when the new body style came out. What a great car it has been for her. Never once in the shop while my AMG made several extended stays. Just hope my new E63 is more dependable

Just test drove a very clean, low mile (23K) E55 last night...I may have to live w/ the old styling, that supercharged beast was a blast. We'll see...
Hyperion, thanks for the offer but for what the car will be doing (sitting in the garage 6 out of 7 days a week) I cant justify the cost of a 2011, this will be a soccer/weekend fun car.

I have a feeling all the problems became worse during that period of time when MB was with Chrysler.
