good price on 2011 E63?

hi all, a dealer in my area has a 2011 E63 for sale. i know it's last years model now so can anyone recommend a good price to offer? i'm sure it should be discounted pretty heavily with the 12s out now.

Depends on options.
If it has P2 and PP I'd gladly pay mid 80.
Maybey even 90 out the door?
Is it possible to expect better than that?

From the link, it might have P2 but certianly not PP.
If you get it, make them put an LSD in it.
I can't imagine the car would handle as well without it.

Its way too high at the asking price--- waaaaaaaay too high and the PP on the pre 2012's is not that great.. no hp/tq bump.

edit... based on the steering wheel its not a PP.

+1 - as in $15-$20 toomuch give or take options, which themselves should be discounted in value...

You are right on pre '12 PP not adding HP, but it still gives the LSD, Forged Wheels and Sport Suspension.
Post '12 PP does not include LSD.

Is anyone getting new optioned '11s for 80K?

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
With that price, it better be heavily loaded with options...still way too high, though.

yeah i know we keep saying that the 2011's NEW should be like 80's but is anyone actually getting that.

every dealer i goto that has new 2011's has them listed at the MSRP sticker price , sitting there with the 2012's

and when i ask if they are gonna give a break on this car because of it being an older yr , older engine, they are like, naw we dont look at it that way because its so rare, as being anAMG and all the purist want the NA engine, etc etc

im not really sure how to approach this

The whole "rare" thing is true, but it has no real world impact on resale prices of AMG's, so it's just a sales tactic--trust me, if you tried to trade the '11 back in to them a week after buying it, they won't be talking about how rare it is. JMO, but you'd be crazy to pay near MSRP for a new '11. Either buy a loaded low-mileage '10 in the 60's (which I'm in the process of doing), an '11 in the 70's (if you can find one--there aren't many used 11's out there), or buy a new '12 and get the TT engine and be resigned to live with the instant depreciation. I know my '10 will keep depreciating a lot too; it just won't be quite as quick, and it has less distance to fall. Massive depreciation is just a fact of life with AMG's.

Well I know what I would want out of a performance package and thats more warrantied hp and tq... the LSD is 1730 dollars (cost) to add to a 2012 car and this includes install since its matched at the factory. Id rather have that as an option (a cheap one) and the power bump as part of the package.

To do an aftermarket LSD will cost you more- labor is quoted around 5 hours plus parts and seals.

Either way this car in question is way over priced, 1 year old and an engine behind.

Here are the most recent sales on 2011 E63's... now keep in mind these are bare bone sale prices and there are many charges not added in depending on recon, transport, license, etc. And they have some miles but clearly their prices are down:

10/19/11 PALM BCH Lease $75,500 7,358 Avg BLACK 8G A No
11/17/11 RIVRSIDE Factory $64,000 11,814 Avg ARC WHT 8G A No
12/01/11 RIVRSIDE Factory $65,500 4,839 Avg GRAPH 8G A No

There was a new one on Ebay 1-2 months ago that was Buy it Now for low 80s and had options. Was one here in town for mid 80s and also new with options. I have not been paying attention to ads though here lately since put my shopping on hold due to a possible relocation happening.

There are a couple 2011's at Park Place in Fort Worth that were 109 and 105k respectively. They have less than 300 miles on them. Now they are listed as used cars and the price has dropped into the high 80's, although they upped the price on one to 93k. It was listed at 89k a week or so ago.

Three months ago that same dealer told me they would take 10k off on any of the new 2011 E63 cars they had in stock. That though of course did not get them into the 80s. That offer was made in an email, I never have set foot in that dealer or talked to them on the phone. So I'd imagine with not tons of effort on my part that they would have gone down some more.

hmm, wonder why they have racked up 300 miles, were they purchased and sold back for some reason, or test driven for that many miles

I use to live in Littleton where this car in question is for sale, that dealer is always over pricing and their customer service sucked, sales guys treat you like you have no money if you walk in wearing jeans and sneakers; happened numerous times to numerous people I know.

New cars with a few hundred miles on them seem to be more the norm down here than the exception. I assume miles are from test drives and joy rides.

With the test drives? I have yet to have a dealership not let me, Joe Blow, go and test drive any AMG I asked them about. Every test drive racked on at least 15 miles if not more. I bet there are a lot of Joe Blows like me going to do test drives if anything for a joy ride over seriously thinking of buying.

Test drive miles. Park Place is pretty lenient with test drives as they have a ton of AMG vehicles at any given time. As opposed to my local dealer who rarely has one. They wouldn't let me test drive a C63 before I bought one. Park Place did, so I bought it there.

15 miles or more?! I guess I should head over your way when I'm in the market for an AMG next time. Hmm, maybe I should head over to the nearest dealer, which has a new S65 sitting inside the showroom but locked up.

15 miles is barely enough time IMHO to even get a feel for a car to see if it is right for me.

I agree, 15 isn't enough, but you'd be lucky to get it

I never have been told though that I need to turn around and head back to the dealer. When I was looking at the Panamera I probably put well over 15 miles on that, we drove all over the place and same applies to the CLS550. But whatever I buy will be something I will spend ~3 hours a day in and over a variety of driving conditions, I want to get as certain as possible that it is "right" for me.

I know what you mean: I tested the AMG for about 15 minutes, and since it wasn't 'broken in' yet, I wasn't able to romp on it......I just knew I wanted an AMG you know?
Even though I got the wrong one, LOL......it's still a very amazing car. AND, it seems even better after drving it and putting some new oil in it; changed the oil at 5K miles.....
but holy god, March won't get here soon enough!!!!! that's when the cls arrives
