P30 sport suspention
How stiff is the p30 sport suspention ? Is it only the shocks diffrent than the normal E63 or the spring too ? I had a gtr35 and i sold it because it was stiff , so i am thinking to buy anormal E63 with LSD and tune the ecu , i dont know what to buy , money is not an issue ,

Let others with P30 chip in. But from what I have read, it's noticeably 1 step stiffer. That means the lowest setting (no light) on the P30 is same as one light on the regular E63--then it goes on the same way. Obiously the two lights on P30 is way stiffer than the same on non P30.

Yes, I was thinking of Vic when I wrote my post above. There were multiple posts before by Vic discussing the difference in stiffness between the two.

12 E63 matte white
I have had 10' E63 without PP and now 12' with PP. The difference is the shocks are calibrated firmer. Love the ride as it's more planted...it's firm but not harsh. Now even more better with KW lowering kit as it feels tighter and steering feel a tad firmer..also love the alacantra steering wheel

P30 is firm but still civilized.
I leave it on the lowest setting, until there are twisties to attack.
On high the handling is really good.
To me its a must have if you enjoy twisty roads.

Ive have placed numerous posts about the AMG PP suspension---- the skinny:
It brings the car to a much closer level of BMW M suspension. Its firm but forgiving over softer undulations and remains very planted at higher speeds (over 100 mph). The limitation of yaw and body roll is clearly noticeable and for me... I love to drive cars and push them in sharp turns and high speed bends so this suspension is a must. Ill sacrifice the limited comfort loss all day for the more aggressive road and chassis feel created from the harder dampeners. I hate body roll- that was one of the issues I had with my 2004 E55 with pigmatic. The transition from airmatic in the front on the W212 to steel springs is a benefit for me long time waiting. Even ABC on the SL, CL, S, etc is still too soft. Im seriously considering the new F10 M5 for a few major reasons (DCT for sure) and the suspension and handling feel.
Some retail msrp facts:
The front dampeners are about 1095 dollars each (PP) and the rears are 850 each (PP). Im not sure what the non PP AMG dampeners are but they are less. I am looking into getting a set for my wagon which doesnt get the stiffer shocks with the PP package.

OK, thanks. Personally, I don't think I'd want my wagon to be any stiffer in the softest setting, especially as I can make it stiffer with the suspension button if I want to. I've got an M5 too - I'm not sure yet which I prefer ride-wise, but the E63 is easier to drive overall.

But thats personal preference only.

Wonder what's the rationale for MB to put softer front damper for the P30 wagon--maybe simply because it's a wagon.
