Paint Correction: 2011 Jet Black E63

Hey mbworld, wanted to share this detail I completed recently. This car was shipped to Beverly Hills from Connecticut after seeing two winter's worth of road salts and sand damage the car. Machine washes only compounded the damage I needed to correct.

Post up any questions you might have.

After wash:

Severe swirling on driver side fender:

Severe swirling on hood:

Driver side door before and after paint correction w/ Chemical Guys V-series:

Close-up of driver side door:

Passenger side door before and after paint correction w/ Chemical Guys V-series:

Finished; Chemical Guys Pete's 53 wax applied:

Nice job but no public advertising, emails, websites, phone numbers, etc here unless you are a paying sponsor. (I know you havent, just a preemptive)

I had to say that just in case.... car looks great

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Wow, that mirror like reflection of the palm trees! Beauty of the color black. It's unfortunate that maintenance of the color is overwhelming--plus the heat of the summer for that color.

Splendid work! What would a job like this hypothetically cost?

Very true, if I had a black car, I'd keep it in a hermetically sealed environment at all times.

This job in particular was $800 and took 40 hours to complete.

Great job....I hear so many detail horror stories about the MB ceramiclear paint.

I have the same paint code on my 2010 and I have slight swirling. Nothing as bad as pictured above. I plan on using Menzerna SF4000 polish and Adam's Machine Wax as my last step protection.

Did you have to do any paint correction on the bumpers? Did you hand apply or use the PC on the bumpers? I don't have a 3" orbital so I'm thinking woth all those small areas on the bumper I may have to hand wax.

Sounds like a good deal.
Did you say you had to color sand or just heavily cut and polish?
Did you have to deal with any deep scratches and chips?

Thumbs up

Looks brilliant, simply amazing work. Recently had my metallic black M3 done by eclipsisNA and was just as big of a turnaround. My ****ty swirly, holgrammed paint (thanks previous "detailer") wasn't just covered up it was fixed after days of hard work and some unmatched paint skills. I had no clue work like this could be done (and paint that looked ruined returned to factory). They're the only people other than me who will touch my cars from now on, cannot recommend highly enough.
