Porterfield Brake Pads for 2010 E63 W212 -> a must!

Baby needed shoes so I bought a set of R4S from Jerry at www.formymercedes.com

Phenomenal! The fact that the the dust has been reduced by 90% in-and-of-itself is worth the switch!!

I cannot recommend Jerry enough for his service, help, great shipping and competitive pricing. Kudos to Jerry our sponsor!

+1 I ordered my Porterfield's through Jerry also. QUICK process and got my pads in no time! My last set of R4S's lasted me quite a while with multiple track events also. Great pads!

Don't mean to threadjack but an alternative to the Porterfield's are Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads w/Shims. I picked up a set for the fronts from RockAuto for $80. I haven't put 'em on yet but from everything I've read, these should be as good as the OEM pads minus the brake dust.

Besides the dramatic decrease in brake dust, did any of you notice any greater bite or stopping power with the R4S's?

Same here, I never tracked my car so the braking performance was not really noticed. The dust part, or lack of it, was surely though.

Wondering how often you guys are having to replace your rotors? Are you having to replace them every time you replace pads? I know this will vary on the way the car is driven but I'm asking because the dealer is saying I need new pads and rotors and the car only has 28k miles (2010 e63). They are saying that there's a lip on the rotors but I'm just wondering if i'm getting taken?

my 2011 E63 had the brake pads replaced at 5k miles due to squeaking. There is no squeak when the wheels are clean, but as soon as they are dusty (after 2-3 days), the squeak returned. Same thing is happening with the new brake pads. I wonder if the Porterfields will decrease the squeak since it seems that the brake dust is causing the problem... Anyone else have a squeak that was cured with low dust pads? TIA
