2012 E63 PP non LSD Diff Fluid Change
Owner's manual says to change differential fluid at 2000 mi on all E63s. It does not matter that car has no LSD. The manual also says to change the diff fluid on CLS and C63s only if they are LSD cars.
I called the dealer but was not able to get an intelligent answer except to change the fluid.
Appreciate comments as to why the 2012 E63 without LSD requires a fluid change when other 2012 non LSD 63s don't.
Thanks.

I am reading the manual differently: ".....and E63, SLK35 with limited slip differential". Doesn't that mean only E63 with LSD and SLK35 with LSD require the fluid change? Shouldn't the on board computer tell us that we need service?
I have 5000 miles on my 2012 E63 and I haven't changed it. May be I should have.

Direct quote from 2012 E63 Maintenance Booklet page 12 under heading Service at 2000 Miles:
" Replace rear axle differential fluid( only C63AMG with limited slip differential, CLS63AMG with limited slip differential and E63 AMG) "
So according to the Maintenance Booklet all 2012 E63 differentials must be changed at 2000 miles.
I think this is a MB screw up!
I am following up with MB USA as dealer insists the fluid on E63s must be changed according to Maintenance Book.

MBWorld Fanatic!
It's most likely wording error by MB. There was a thread in the past discussing this: fluid change is only needed for the LSD diff.

You DEFINITELY want to change the diff fluid in an AMG car at 1500 miles!
I have watched our techs do it and the fluid comes out silver and nasty. Mercedes uses 75w140 castrol syntrax. I am a Mercedes dealer parts advisor.
