Anyone have buyer's remorse?
MB World friends,
I'm still on the outside as I have yet to pull trigger on a 2012'63.
However,I have been following these pages well.
I know Otakka (sp) dislikes Pano. roof ( agreed as i had a E55 that MB took apark due to PITA squeaking,Vdub says (with many others) they run through oil like crazy. And those battery and Airmatic gremlins...
SO,do we still love the car,buy another?
BTW,would an Audi S6 or4 prove to more reliable do you think?
Thank you!
~Mike

1973 BMW 2002Tii, 2013 E63 wagon Cavansite P30+Premium
I'm still riding on a torque overdose high right now, so I could be bias, but my wagon is absolutely fantastic!
All the known problems that you listed could happen to anyone, that's part of the ownership experience unfortunately. If you want a trouble free car then I might suggest looking at a Toyota Camry..... just a warning though, you might fall asleep at the wheel when test driving it! haha!
I personally love the way the Audi does the exterior and interiors of their cars, but have sworn off anything VW related. My past ownership and that of close friend's cars have resulted in nothing but trouble so I stay away.... except of course Porsches... but I'm not in a situation where I have that problem right now! hahah! Just so you know, my last car was a Range Rover Sport....06...first year it came out..... that's either brave or stupid depending on how you look at it! Luckily I didn't have too many Major problems.
The W212 cars were intro'd in 09' so it would be safe to "assume" that most of the bugs are worked out by now. Nothing is perfect as evidenced by the problems other people are seeing, but for the most part in my opinion, the 12' E63 should be a safe bet.

MBWorld Fanatic!
No buyer's remorse for me.
Yup, right on! You know well about my remorse for the pano. Overall, I believe MB's reliability has improved tremendously since MB part from Chrysler. Of course, I have heard that Porsche has the best quality and reliability amongst all German marques.
I just hope that MB will address the small overhang crash testing that has stirred up quite something in the automotive safety world for the past couple of weeks. However, the W212 uses more ultra high strength steel in its construcation than any other current cars in the world, so I'm anxious to see what the small overhang crash rating is like.
But the W212 experience has been a positive one for me until now. It's my first MB, and the second car I bought in life.

remorse
i actually love my car. got a great deal on it and the lease payment was the same os my CTS-V- No brainer
Its a lease so not much to think about.
HAd to have pano this time, no creaks or noises but it does get much hotter inside. I ended up limo tinting the pano and probably going to put a another layer on top of it.
I was considering a bmw 550 but the lease payment was the same so why take the 20K + car. Plus I love the looks on the W212 E63.
I would never actually buy a E63 due to its rapid depreciation

IT LIKE ITS STOLEN!
i purposely went out and got my 2012 E63 with a sun roof, if i could have purchased the car without anything i would of, reliability is great, burns oil YES, but so what all my M5's did also. If you want a excellent car with tons of power the E63 Biturbo will keep you smiling, if you want a Audi that makes noise and doesn't go anywhere and get beat by GTI's with chips lol you could do that also

My active 7 hybrid ironicall burns oil as well, it's hilarious. Oil consumption woudn't be a reason not to purchase a car since most high perforance cars burn oil. My M5's needed a quat every 800-1000 miles

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
No buyers remorse. the 63 bi turbo is like no other engine. 63 na and 55Kompressor are still great engines. 63 bi turbo tuned is unreal. You stomp on it at 80 mph and it like a sling shot and your doing 120mph.

2012 CLS63
when I had my E63 I kind of regretted it........although I got a good deal, I already had one w212 at the time, and I didn't get P30......and that was a regret....
so when I traded it in for my CLS, I felt much better because I got the P30 this time.....
now I regret NOT getting designo! LOL.......
it'll always be something lol......
good luck
