M157 Engine oil leak *Owners Beware*
I'd thought i would post it here since there is no ML63BT forum and we owners share the same engine ,
I bought my car brand new around 8 months ago and i noticed that my car is consuming oil more than the norm , i've owned many similar cars AMG/Porsches/BMW Ms and with this car i use to top up oil evreyweek!
Car went through service A & B through the dealer and for inspection and nothing was reported , i told them about the oil consumtion and they gave me a classic answer , its normal for turbo engines to consume oil when pointed the oil leaks out they said thats probably left over oil from the top ups....
So a few days back upon topping up oil after 10 days from Service B i found signs of leakeage on the front of the engine.
The leaks are in 3 places and according to the oil cooler diagram it is the right of the engine where the oil/filter thermostat and other signs of leak on the oil/water heat exchanger and oil pump..
No wonder why my car for the past 8 months consumed alot of oil...
I filed a complaint againts our dealership as they should make a proper diagnosis when they see oil in the engine bay and close to the oil cooler parts which most likley is the culprit..
Did anyone face any leaking issues on these engines before?
Thanks

2012 E63 TT Wagon
Yep I have 12,000 mi on my 2012 E63 Wagon and it uses 1 qt per 1,000 miles. The dealer said my Skid Pan works as a Oil Catch and that mine was leaking. They said they fixed it is but it still is using the same amount of oil. Need to get it back there.

In 13000 miles I've added a quart three times when the CPU told me to. I've done one oil change at 9000 miles or so. Haven't noticed any leaks

I've been experiancing that chunk your talking about in all my mercedes cars , along with the rough downshift from 2nd to first but this usualy gets better by time..

This may not be popular but I found changing oil brand drastically changed how much oil consumption. I now use Shell Rotella T6 or Pennzoil Euro. Literally night and day difference.
