FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
It's probably because no one here has done that...and also maybe no one here is interested in doing that. A better bet would be to post this on the C63 forum if you have the M156 engine. At least that's what I would do. There is so much more traffic over there.

2013 E-63
I had an AEM kit installed in my '10 Camaro. Gained quit a bit more hp. Very happy with it and have had no issues. I was thinking about putting one in the E63 a little later down the road. Would be curious how effective it will be.

Should you? Yes thats a great idea to increase power. They have made power on every single car ive put them on. Including a TT LS2. Made great power.

If you want a better warranty and product support you should go with the AEM. They have some really good fail safes too.

Heres some good info. Tons of our customers run meth injection on their subarus.

AEM the way to go

installing the kit wouldn't be that hard. From what I read that meth need more timing and boost also you can't change from maps using handheld device like other cars to use meth when its needed and go back to regular tune when your run out of meth

I believe more 650ish meth is like running +116 octane depends on the gas you run and it cools the engine a lot

Did you ask you tuner about running meth ? I think it need custom tune and probably you need to send your ECU back and forth is not worth it at all
we need the handheld programmer

My car did 632whp / 797 wtq on 91 octane last month I think it was dyno dynamics

So your installing the meth kit without a retune ?

If your not going to tune the car then it gonna be just for cooling the engine

I'm running Weistec tune

No more car
Just sent you info to my buddy's shop in Yonkers NY. They'll be able to help you out. They have worked on all of my cars for the past 10 years and the owner has a special love for MB's. He has a beautiful SL63. Let me know if you head up there and I'll stop by. They are normally open 7 days a week but are closing for the next two days.

Since you said "best kit" I would have bought a Aquamist kit. They have 2 or 3 levels also and it has much better control like a fuel injector. Click here AEM is a normal basic kit that is no better than any other kit out there from devils own, alcohol injection systems, Labonte, etc.

Methanol injection, depending on where the nozzles are placed, what size nozzles are run and what is ran through the system can vary greatly. The closer to your throttle body (or after the throttle body with an adapter plate) the better for "octane increase," where if you have them more upstream of the throttle body in the intercooler piping you will get more of a "cooling" and less of an "octane" affect.

Many people tap in to the washer fluid reseviors in various cars since it is a nice sized tank and you have the built in low fluid level light. You can then buy washer fluid that is the lowest freeze protection (like -25f) which will have more methanol content in it. You also want to make sure NOT to get washer fluid that has any ethylene glycol in it for freeze protection and only made of water/methanol (methyl alcohol). Your local Walmart is a good bet for generic fluid.

If you want to do better, then get yourself a 5 gallon jug of Methanol and mix it with distilled water and run that. Best bet is 50/50 mix for both cooling and octane boost. Water has a higher latent heat of evaporation so it does a better job of cooling than methanol, but methanol has a high octane rating so it depends what you are looking to do. So you could run straight methanol, straight water or a mix. You can also run denatured alcohol instead of methanol.

As for tune adjustments, I am not sure if the biturbo E63 is wideband or narrowband o2 sensor controlled, but if it is wideband than the car will compensate for the rich condition the methanol injection causes and will bring the air/fuel more in to the requested value range. If it is narrowband controlled than you will most likely run about a half point (.5) richer so say 11.0:1 instead of 11.5:1 air/fuel ratio.

Methanol injection does a very big positive in temperature control in forced induction vehicles and even not tuned for you can "gain" power from the car not pulling ignition timing from rising intake temps. Think of it more like how your car is when it is 50* outside instead of 80* outside. If tuned for than you can increase boost and/or ignition timing even more as long as you are injecting an adequate amount of methanol that is also placed close enough to the throttle body to make its way to the engine before it all evaporates.

Hope this helps a little more.
