If you could have only one: distronic or parktronic?

Looking at two leftover 2013's. One has parktronic but no distronic and the other one is vice versa. Other options are similar.

I use cruise control every now and then. Not sure enough that I would order distronic on a new build. Currently my C class doesn't have parktronic and I don't feel I need it. The E doesn't seem that much bigger than my C.

Does anyone find the distronic hard to live without? Or think that parktronic is a must in the E class?

I have both. You will use Parktronic every day. You might not use Distronic every day, but it is pretty cool when you do use it.

if you're having any issues at all parking the car, just practice in an open lot.

get Distronic. must-have feature.

I've got something similar to parktronic on my truck and love it. But it is a big, bulky, and hard to see when parking. Our E has distronic but no parktronic. The E has good visibility around it when parking and does have a back up camera to help so I do not really need parktronic. But the distronic is just awesome. You can even use it in very busy traffic (as long as the car in front is not stopped when you approach it) and never have to touch the brake or gas.
Wait, what color car is the distronic vs parktronic? That may be the deal breaker!

I personally think Parktronic is way more useful than Distronic. You will use Parktronic eventually although you feel you don't need it (if you have it). To me Distronic is for lazy people -- didn't have it on my W212 E63 as well as my current CLS63, I just feel there is no need of using the Distronic feature. But that's just me

both have advantages, distronic is very impressive and good for highway, and obviously parktronic is good for just watching the corners and rear end....

i thought parktronic was included in the p1 package or something, cant remember.

u can probably retrofit a rear view camera if u need. Get the distronic

Seems the calculus is changing with the 2014, because now the only way to get the 360-surround-view camera is with Parktronic. For me the camera was a must-have. Awesomely cool.

Um, I can't stop mashing the throttle so distronic is a waste for me.
Parktronic, I've come to rely on it with back-up camera even more so than i thought.

In my humble opinion, Parktronic FTW!

Notice how the people who say distronic is not needed or a waste are those that don't have it? As others with distronic have stated, it's a must have option. If you ever need to drive long distance or go on a road trip, having this option makes it really effortless. I drove 10 hours and didn't ever need a break except for gas

I love comments like these

I had distronic on my prior S Class. As I stated, it was a waste. I for one, rarely use cruise control and therefore Parktronic serves me better.

To the OP, be satisfied in whatever option you choose. Either way, the car is blast to drive.

WIth Distronic I am finding that I use the cruise control much more often. It does wonders for pushing MPG higher

Ha! In an ideal world yes. But I'm trying to find a good deal on a leftover 2013. So the pickings are slim.

It's either parktronic/no LSD/no CF or distronic/LSD/CF. Colors are different, but equal in my mind.

I'd prefer LSD, but I can always add that aftermarket. Same for CF.

It's comments like these that show how little you know about the feature you had. Distronic isnt only for driving long distance with cruise control. It's also very handy when you drive during rush hour where you can't mash your throttle all the time. And if you rely on sound when you have a backup camera for parking, then I don't know what to tell you
