Song data now displayed on screen with Pandora Yay!!!
The latest version 4.5 of Pandora on my Android (Galaxy S3) is now displaying Song titles and Artist on the cars display screen over bluetooth. I guess there was a bug in 4.3. None of my other music apps though do display data including Slacker and Spotify, hopefully they will get their act together like Pandora did. I thought maybe it was something with the car, but it was phone, great to have it up and working now.

As soon as Pandora 4.5 was loaded it started displaying the song data. The only bug it seems to have now if you skip songs it just keeps displaying the same song I was on unless I open Pandora again on my phone, strange. If I just start playing music and leave it along it just keeps displaying new song data every song as it is suppose to work. Maybe something in my setting are different than yours, not really sure. Play around with your phone settings some and see if that works, I do have USB debugging turned off, although I guess this should not make a difference with this anyhow because it is over Bluetooth.

Neither Spotify nor Slacker seems to send data to the command, at least with a android. I think with a apple iphone just about all music players display data, I guess that's what these systems where designed around originally, but at least android seems to be catching up.

i drive them all, fast and hard
ok i tried it today
turned pandora on the phone, started playing music
went to the audio tab on the screem, down to bt audio,
then find last device
then clicked the play icon and the music was transmitted fine,
on screen it just says track
no name of the artist
i can use the command knob to move forward with song, but not back
thats where im stuck at

Here it is, I still can't believe it myself, it's a miracle. Maybe try loading a brand new version of the 4.5 and see what happens, maybe Pandora added this capability after your 4.5 version, worth a shot.
I notice your screen name, do you still have a VW and if so what model. I got a 2013 VW Jetta TDI Wagon a while back as I do a lot of driving and wanted the fuel economy, about double of the Benz plus I can keep miles off the Benz this way too. I'm thing about a Tune on the VW as I understand you can get a lot of extra power out of these diesel tunes. I really like the Jetta although I'd rather be driving the Benz all the time, but in the long haul it's the right thing to do because I'll be putting around 25K per year on the Jetta and maybe 10K a year on the Benz, then another 6K per year on my V8 Colorodo truck I use to pull my boat.
I wish where the picture of the Ipod is on the left side of the screen it displayed the album art there, that would be real nice. It does in my Jetta, at least on HD radio, it remains to be seen if this 4.5 version of Pandora works on that car like it does the Benz as that is still in storage in Florida, I'll be finding out in a couple weeks when I get to Sarasota.

u sure your car isnt a 2013,
u have a different color interface, which i think was updated for 2013 and on....

Looks good, I'm starting to get hooked on German cars, well at least till I get the first big bill for Service. The first oil change around 1K miles ago I had done by a local shop here who specializes in german cars, 40 bucks, including me bringing the mobil 1 from Walmart, great deal, I doubt they will do the next oil change that low. But it says on my service assist screen the next service at 25K miles ( a ways away as I have 16K on the car now) that I need Service B. I'll bet that's around a $1K service at a Benz Dealer, not sure whats involved with Service B.
Anyhow, just checked the date of Mfg. of the car and it was 12/11 so it's actually an early 2012, strange I have a screen like a 2013? For a while I thought maybe it was a software update the 2013's had that allowed data streaming because I looked at a new 2013 and it did display data with my galaxy 3. It will be great if the Jetta does display album art like it does on HD Radio, keeping my fingers crossed, I'd be happy with just song data in the Jetta. I do stream a lot of music as I drive, probably worth it for me to pay the 3 bucks a month or so that Pandora gets to get rid of the advertising, plus they limit you when stream too much.

Hopefully that will work for you, it is nice to song and artist data as you're driving along. That was one of my biggest complaints of this car other than the brake rotor hub rust that the dealer will not fix under warrantee, I guess maybe I'll just leave the rust there and tell people who notice, ya, Mercedes does not cover this sort of thing for painting the rotor hubs bad to start with. Maybe somebody from Mercedes will read this and authorize the dealer to fix this issue, I know over on the Cadillac forums they have reps reading the forums and answering to stuff like this, normally it's like "I'm very sorry sir, we will do our best to try and remedy this issue" then when you get to the dealer it's like who told you this?" lol. It makes ya feel good reading it though that they will take care of it, haha.

Darn, it's frusterating, I'd been trying to get this to work for a while now and had tried everything. Any questions on your settings feel free to ask and I'll cross check mine with yours. I do notice that the software version for the Pandora says 4.5.1 now, it still seems to work fine with the song data. I'm thinking about join for 3.99 a month to get rid of the advertising and hopefully have less delays, sometimes I think the delays are when the advertising loads.
