'12 Headlight haze? Anyone else?

For some reason the sealed backing that the headlights originally came with trapped moisture inside the lights, where that moisture would evaporate and condense. When it condensed on the spot where the light was later extremely hot, the "boiling" left residue behind. This could have been cleaned, but access to that specific part of the relatively sealed unit was not something they could ask a dealer to do.
The initial solution was to put much more permeable rear covers on the lights, allowing the moisture to escape after going through one heat cycle. If the "haze" didnt clear up pretty quickly (and I dont think it ever did... I cant imagine how.) they would replace the whole unit, this time with an assembly that had the permeable back plate on it so that it wouldn't haze up the new unit.

I just had mine replaced on 1/14 and they now have the V shape again. I am thinking they did not replace them. The work order shows they did. The V is only visable when the lights are on.

My 2012 E63 is in storage for the winter so I'm not positive that I have the "V" in my lens but after looking at this video I'm pretty sure I have it also. Here is a video of a brand new 2012 E63 and if you look at the 3:45 mark of this video you can clearly see the "V" on the headlight lens.

@ProfesorX.....I don't think the video shows the V. It looks more like reflections to me. Plus, it doesn't make any sense that it would be on a brand new car.

So, what are you saying, that it's coming from the factory this way? How is that possible?
You must be an imposter, as the REAL vdubpower has this sig :

Need some helps from you peeps...so I got my new headlights last week (replaced due to V Haze) and I feel like my headlights are aimed way too low....They go right and left around curves but when I turn them on I don't see them moving up and down in essence self-leveling. Can you guys tell me if your headlights adjust when you turn them on? Meaning do you see the beam go up and down and settle at the right height?
Thank you and sorry or the hijacking!!!

ok so a car with 50 miles has the haze, as per the video,
which is crazy as it is a new car
ive wondered around my local dealership and seen the haze with xenon and non xenon cars alike
i dont when my haze started, but i only noticed it when i saw a thread here, but it may have been there
i have new lights on order, apparrently, but yeah im concerned that it will return and that they may not be aligned right either....

me neither, so mine started atleast after 1 yr of ownership
so i noticed mine first in 12/2013 in this thread, but it was likely there before
those pics with the front spoilers was from march 2013, so between that time it occurred

I went to look at my 2012 last night in storage.... I couldn't see the V until I turned on my headlights. So I will changing mine out on my next service call also. I'm glad this post popped up before my warranty expired so I appreciate the information from you guys.

How can new old stock be bad if the V is caused by condensation of moisture on the lens being heated up by the bulb(s)? Makes no sense.
Personally, I would take the car back to the SA.
BTW, your car , being 3 yrs old, would certainly have some mild pitting in the lens from gravel, sand, etc.
Do you see any of that on the lenses now ?

....so the mystery continues. Did they at least aim the lights properly. I know you had voiced some concern about that in a previous post.
