Chris Harris pits E63-S (RWD) against M6 Gran Coupe and Jaguar XFR-S
It got destroyed by the M6 Gran Coupe in a drag race. Looks like the E63 slows down quite a bit without the 4MATIC.
Enjoy!
Cool review.
As Chris Harris said at the end, more fodder for arguing on the internet.

Rears on M6 are 295 20's with Michelin PSS
Rears on E63 285 19's with Either Contis or Pirellis.
The DCT makes a big difference especially the faster they are going. Much faster shifts, no loss of boost and supposedly less drive train loss.

I've just seen Chris out hooning with the AWD/4MATIC Mercedes-Benz AMG variants before so I figured he could get his hands on just about anything he wanted if he asked.
But I suppose he was trying to test the cars on equal footing, if you will.

Chris Harris drove both the 4Matic and NON back to back and preferred the NON
Start at 5:15 for the E63...but watch the whole thing to see the GT3

A couple of counterpoints here; Chris Harris is a drifter at heart - look at all these road tests - it not about driving around a racetrack properly, and technically - it's all about the "hooligans" as he says it - and that's the only real point about the 2 wheel drive version he likes - he actually mentions the awd version being the ultimate weapon, and everyone else who has tested and compared have not missed any handling characteristics of the 2wd version, except the burn outs, and power overslides. The awd version is absolutely faster in all conditions - including a dry racetrack - I'm all about ultimate performance, but could care less about which car drifts best.
I'm a BMW guy at heart - have owned and raced M3's for over 10yrs - I like the M5 & M6 a lot - and actually prefer BMW's normally over MB's - but I certainly wasn't gonna buy one of them over the E63 to go "drifting" around a racetrack - IMO, the only real shortcoming the e63 has vs the M cars is the transmission and navigation - and of course looks is subjective -
