Question I want to build up an M156 E63 AMG - Who are the experts?

I have a 2010 E63 AMG with 28k on the odometer and RENNtech R4 package (ECU upgrade, stainless steel headers, performance sound pipe, 82mm throttle bodies and carbon fiber airbox upgrade. 575 HP @ 6800 RPM; 525 LB-FT @ 5200 RPM).

I'd like to move to a stage 2 Weistec supercharger for 672 horsepower, 662 ft-lb of torque. I know I'm going to need to beef up the motor and transmission, amongst other things... If anyone can give me input - or point me in the direction of someone else who's already gone through these motions - I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm not looking for a 9 second drag strip monster that needs slicks for traction. However, I'd LIKE to think I could have an 11.0 second E63 AMG as I'm seeing this possible with the new twin turbo models on good street tires.

Any input, thoughts and/or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you...

I think you may have misread my post. I know my car isn't in the 11s now. I'm guessing 12.3 if I'm lucky.

I'll stop by Renntech to see what they have for me. They're local so I wish they had options for more power (SC or T)...

Is the 575 you currently make to the wheels ? Or crank? I think bolt-on NA 63 motor makes about 450-500 rwhp. So I assume you quoting crank ? Regardless a wesitec blower would be pretty stout. Not a big 1/4 mile guy myself but for roll racing , it's optimal :0) with a **** eating grin on your face. Hit up the guys at wesitec

Yes, I'll be contacting Weistec for sure... I'd like to take the car to the next level.

You should be in the 11's already.
I would start with the driver mod and a trans upgrade first.

The keep practicing until your launch is solid and you crank off an 11.9.

Then drop the $25K on SC & forged internals and have yourself a 10 sec dd

Good luck!

Thank you. 11.9, huh? Even on street tires? And I do have launch control...

I would put the car on the quarter first and see where you are at. That will give you a baseline for where you as a driver and your car are at currently and will better enable you to determine where you want to end up and what it's going to cost.

RENNtech is always a solid choice, but I would take a look at the Weistec systems as well. These guys are on the West Coast, but definitely know what they are doing. I have used many of their products on my M156 and always is top notch with fantastic service.

I decided to go with Weistec's stage 3 system and it'll be installed in 2-3 weeks...

I like the fact that Renntech is so close to me but they're really not interested in doing any supercharging or turbo for the 6.2...

Thank you. Yeah, it would have been nice considering they're so close - but I have confidence in Weistec as well. I'm sure it's going to be great...

Old thread but just thought I'd note that the car in the video at the discussion below was the final result of my little journey with the E63. It was a lot of fun...

Did you dyno the car and/or run it at the track or dragy it?

It certainly is a powerful vehicle. It sounds amazing too.
