Got three car seats in the back (if anyone cares)
I use the rear deck restraint for all three -- solid as a rock.
Now I have THE ultimate grocery getter and can haul three rug rats

The only disadvantage of having the rearfacing, as you parents know, is the front seat passenger gets little legroom
I was debating on getting the benz seats, but they weren't as narrow as the Radian, and the radian is solid.. darn near weighs 40-50lbs each .. kinda kills me a bit because the seats alone add about 100lbs of weight ... they're killing my quarter mile times, LOL

Part of the pain in the *** of having buy-backs of two e550s was that dropping them off for loaners a hundred times made swapping car seats such a pia that it fueled my rage towards Mbusa and they heard about it each and vwery phone call
I finally just bought two extra car seats for all the loaners and forced mb dealership to install them each time I dropped the e550 off for another trans repair

they are wide so i dont think i can get that into the E class. I can in the old S, but there are no tethers and the seat belts dont lock at all
in my E i do a recaro probooster for the 6 yr old, and i put the 4 yr old in that older Proride that we have.
i dont think the 3 recaros would fit across my E, nor in a GL.
Easy also to clean fabric and reapply fabric... Not many buyers factor this in... Yur kids are gunna $h;t, ****, and puke all over these things ...
I have no idea if other infant car seats are any better.

We started out with a large 3-i-1 seat, but found that going with different seats for each stage was much more convenient.
- A dedicated rear facing infant seat is much smaller than the 3-in-1s, so fits much more easily, and many can be easily pulled out of the base and dropped onto a stroller.
-Forward facing seats are pretty large, but provide a lot of protection with 5 point harnesses and bolstering.
-Booster seats are easy for kids to use, and allows them to buckle themselves in & out.
