As noted in another thread, for my 2015 E63 AMG wagon, I had originally picked designo sand leather and curly maple trim without having seen pictures of either. After seeing your terrific photos, I switched to sand leather and bamboo trim. Can't wait for it and am very thankful you posted when you did, just days after I submitted my initial order.
By the way, my car exterior will be polar white with night package and black 10-spokes. Had I gone with a darker paint (e.g., Palladium gray), I might have switched to light brown leather with curly maple. But for white, the lighter sand and bamboo are my favorites.
Bump for an incredibly useful thread! Thank you for compiling this!
Also, a reference question about the (mystical?) designo wood steering wheel:
I was under the impression that the designo interior package, with the designo leather + trim, included a designo wood steering wheel. My information is coming from this older post but also the current AAA configurator (here), which says:
However, when two dealers have gone to configure my 2015 E-class build, they were not able to bring up a code for the designo wood wheel; the standard sport steering wheel code was entered instead. And now that I'm looking at the photos, none of the designo interiors have a designo wood wheel. Has anyone seen an E-class with a designo wood steering wheel?

Beemie-
The 2015 DOG makes no mention of an optional steering wheel for the E63S. The AMG Performance Steering Wheel with Alcantara grips is what is shown. It is labelled as Option code 281
The only variable appears to be black stitching when a color other than black is selected for the interior leather.
On the standalone options page, Option code 314 (Wood/Leather Steering Wheel for Sport) in N/A for all E63 variants.
Option code 443 (Heated Steering Wheel) is N/A for all E63 variants.
The pages covering Designo options display Paint Selections, Nappa Upholstery Packages & Interior Trim. No mention of steering wheels.

My mother has the wood and leather wheel on her 2014 E350. It is a beautiful looking and feeling -- no question. But in the direct sunlight the wood part gets super hot to the touch.

Wood steering wheel feels like a cold beer compared to the AMG flappy paddles after they've been sitting in direct sun.
Lets get this stickied. How do we go about getting that done?
designo steering wheels for the E63 AMG are not available. You can only get those on the non AMG models. There are actually two types of designo wheels. One is a two tone leather wheel where it's black and whatever other color the interior is, another is the designo wood steering wheel. Here are examples of both:
designo Sand:
designo Bamboo (note it's an older E-Class, the facelifted wheel shape is different):

Wow you are a veritable font of knowledge!
Here's a related puzzle on the designo wheel options for non-AMG (I apologize for asking in the AMG forum but still qualifies for designo reference):
I was told by one dealer that the designo wood wheel is only available on the luxury trim; while the sport trim can only select the two-tone leather (Y96). I have several other dealers researching this question also, but let me know if you know otherwise.
I honestly can't answer the question that you've put forth but it seems to make sense because the sport versions may have the plastic paddle shifters that luxury versions may not (not 100% sure on my answer). But if you really wanted a designo wood wheel on a Sport it can be added afterwards- albeit very pricey. That two tone designo wheel I showed you is a $3,500 part if you were to buy it from the dealer.
Beemie, if you're truly interested in designo options I've got the contact info for the Assistant Product Manager of designo at MB corporate that can answer your concerns. Send me a PM if you're thinking about doing this for your car.

Let me add to the Thank You's for creating/compiling this thread. Like you, I would love to see more color options offered by MB on their higher prices models. Of the current Designo options, your Mystic Brown choice is my absolute favorite.
Always curious why they dropped the Mystic Blue and Red from the lineup . . .

I think it's because the forum management doesn't want too much real estate taken up with actual content so that more of these endless vendor threads can be on the front page of this sub forum.
But then again, I'm cynical. And really tired of seeing 2, 3, 4, even 6 (six!!!) threads from the each vendor on the first page.
I get it. You sell wheels. You sell crap to slap on one's car. I'm sure that if we need wheels or crap to slap on our cars, then we'll know where to look.
Wow, after looking at all those nice interior options it definitely makes me hate my standard black interior! Does anyone know if there's a way to get those colors on a car that's already built? Perhaps the dealer can wrap the leather or an aftermarket company can? Mystic Red would pop nice.

Sure you can. Just buy all the OEM leather skins for the seats and door panels and then have them do the swap. It's actually pretty straight forward, just takes time for the leather to be made, and money. I'll likely need to buy new seat leather for the front passenger seat (since I want to add the multicontour passenger seat)- if I do that I can sell you the front passenger bottom and back leather in Mystic Red.
So does it look like the estimated 8 week delay for designo was accurate for you?
I just got my build date for my designo wagon (E350) - originally scheduled for production 3rd decade of November, but the estimated production date just updated to January 29, 2015 - about 9 weeks from the original "decade scheduled." Currently in B3 status as of 10/29. Glad this time of year tends to fly by!
My E63 S was ordered late July with a first scheduled date of Nov 3, than they rescheduled 4 weeks later to Dec 4 because of the Designo Platinum White, than they revised again to 17 Nov, and boat has now arrived in Halifax, Can today. So Designo was only a 2 weeks delay for my build.
It'll be helpful to also make a note of how many designo items you got (exterior paint, interior upholstery, and interior trim). My build got pushed out 8 weeks and I got the paint, upholstery, and trim.

Yes I got the Designo leather (light brown) and wood (natural curly maple) and got a 4 week delay. I so wanted Designo Mystic Blue paint but $9600 for a paint job for a paint color that Mercedes already has and uses on other models (like CLS and SLK) is highway robbery.

Good idea - this will be helpful info. Can I play with my humble E350?
I ordered designo upholstery and trim (light brown with natural curly maple).
B3 status as of 10/29/14
Original "decade scheduled:" 3D November, 2014
Estimated production date: 1/29/2015 (9 week delay total; I understand the factory shuts down over Christmas/New Year's for a week or two - correct me if I'm wrong).
