Extended Warranty: '11 E63 AMG *New Rules*
As everyone says, "Erin is awesome, Erin is great, yada yada." Yes, she truly is. She is a very honest person and fair to say the least.
Nevertheless, Erin introduced me to the new Mercedes Benz warranty structuring. If you think you are lucky, guess again.
The new structuring went into effect September 2014. Yeah ALMOST missed it.
Here are the quotes I received from Erin for my 2011 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG with 48,000 miles.
7 Years; 70,000 miles: $6,450
7 Years; 100,000 miles: $7,180
Yes, I nearly had a heart attack on those prices.
Apparently, Mercedes Benz decided to start a tiering system from 1 to 4 and yes, you guessed it, ALL AMG's are put in the highest tier (4) along with the SLS and G-Wagon.
The tiering system seems to be a more profitable system for MB, since before MB was taking a loss on warranty work on most AMG's (I suppose)
Obviously I still will be forced to buy the warranty for the sake of myself. One hiccup with my car could run me $3,000 plus. So it's more of a wise investment.
The warranty still has no deductible and still comes with a 15% surcharge if purchased after the certain time period (I think its 30 days or something). Erin was kind enough to half that surcharge.
I just wanted to inform the community on what to expect when getting warranty now because I expected to pay no more than $4,000; I was wrong!
Please chime in if you have any comments.

At this price point, it may also be advantageous to look into an aftermarket reputable warranty not through MB. I've got an aftermarket one on my R63 that added 4 years for only $4.2k but I heard they no longer offer warranties for AMGs.
Yes, you are right. But I rather spend the right amount of money to get the right kind of warranty. I feel that MB's Extended warranty is proper.
No deductible
Loaner car
No sending anything in to risk getting disapproved on the job
Replaced parts will be genuine OEM.
That's just my 0.02 on it.
