E63 AMG S 2014 vs E63 AMG S 2015
Hello everyone,
This thread is for everyone to share their knowledge in this area. If you know for certain cuz you ordered one or you just think or heard that, please specify. We need to have solid info" 😊
I know that it had been discussed on different threads, but couldn't find a thread that takes it from all corners.
What are the differences between The E63 AMG S 2014 & the 2015? Price, features, design, performance, exterior, interior... Etc (I know that there's no difference between both under the hood, but just to leave the thread open for all aspects).
Thank you

This thread has nearly three pages of discussion on the 2015 and the changes from the 2014.

i read that they sharpened up the paddle shift response times, as well as the gear shift times themselves.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
"The 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT® MCT transmission features innovative multi-clutch technology for instant response to any driving situation. A wet startup clutch eliminates the torque converter, improving performance and fuel-efficiency. The driver can select from four driving modes: Controlled Efficiency features a fuel-saving ECO Start/Stop function. Sport mode raises the shift points and cuts shift times by 30%. Sport+ and Manual modes offer 100-millisecond upshifts and rev-matched downshifts"
then,
went to the amg website for the E63 (again, nothing designated for 2015 as a change):
"AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission
Maximum individuality and customized dynamics – these are the special strengths of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. The four modes – "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual) – offer the driver a personal set-up. In "C" mode, the ECO start/stop function is active and switches off the eight-cylinder engine when the vehicle is at a standstill. In addition, the transmission characteristics are tangibly soft, with smooth and early gear changes. Second gear is generally used as the starting gear in this mode.
The engine and transmission are far more agile in "S", "S+" and "M" mode; in addition, the ECO start/stop function is deactivated. Partial suppression of the cylinders proves perfect for an emphatic driving style: briefly and precisely interrupting ignition and injection under full load leads to even faster gearshifts with a more emotional sound than before. An automatic double-declutching function for downshifting and the RACE START function are also included as standard with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission."
Curious to know your source, thanks

Correct. I am not aware of any MCT upgrade for the 2015 E63. The one upgrade for all 2015 E Class cars is the addition (finally) of power folding side mirrors. I am not aware of any significant changes between 2014 and 2015. Not very surprising given that 2016 appears to be the last model year of the W212 with the new E Class emerging in 2016 as a 2017 model. At that point, E63 buyers will be getting some form of the 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 that resides in the AMG GT and the soon to be released C63. The next model is supposed to be as much as 200 kg lighter according to press reports -- a welcome change especially given the impending shrinkage of the E63's engine from 5.5 L to 4.0 L.
Those folding mirrors add like 20hp you know

ok heres the text that i read, but i cant find the website that i read it on before. it wasnt this site. it was an amg site. this site looks like it took the text from there though...
http://media.daimler.com/dcmedia/0-9...0-0-0-0-0.html
now this is for the cls63 but i would assume it would be identical for the e63.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission responds even faster
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission is the ideal partner for the powerful V8 biturbo engine. Equipped with the four drive modes "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual), the ECO start/stop function and RACE START, the power transmission offers the ultimate in variability and tailor-made dynamism.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission now offers even faster response times: a manual up- or downshift – initiated by the driver on the steering-wheel gearshift paddle – is completed even more immediately than ever before. Particularly in the "S+" and "M" shift modes the power transmission now responds much faster. The tangible driving dynamics are thus enhanced further. This increased immediacy was made possible by optimising the transmission hardware and software. The aluminium shift paddles on the new AMG performance steering wheel can transfer the driver's manual gearshift instructions even faster than before.

why would cosmetic changes (or lack of them )have have any bearing on implementing software/electronics changes?

2019 E63 S
My point is MB made a ton of changes to the CLS--both cosmetic and electronic. I do not assume that it made electronic changes to the E63's MCT just because it made them to the extensively facelifted CLS63's MCT. I hope MB did so but without a press release by MB or inclusion in the 2015 E Class ordering guide I do not assume it did.
