Went in for oil change, came out with new motor... W157
Long story short, I still don't have it back. Yup 5 months. They determined there was some sort of engine failure due to the first owner not allowing motor to warm up (crankshaft bent). I let my car run for minimum 5 mins before moving it, and I only had this car for a few weeks.
I really miss the power, since I've been driving a vast errday of loaners, E250 blue, C250 Coupe, GLK, and most recently a 2015 C300.
Here is a pic of the motor being reassembled at Mercedes Maple after being rebuilt at the AMG facility here in Woodbridge.

I never believed that it was a myth. Ive always warmed my cars up for at least 5 mins. I know people that don't, and are hard on their cars even in the first 10 mins of a drive. This is not good for cold engine parts under load, and I see the types of problems and noises they encounter.

Sitting at idle for too long isn't great for the motor because you're spending too much time with the oil way below normal operating temp when it is too thick to properly lubricate the moving parts of the engine. Remember that too much of a good thing is just as bad as too little! The best thing to do is to start the car, wait a few seconds and then start driving. Just don't get in the car and plant the throttle up to 6,000rpm in the first minute of driving and you'll be fine.
I got my car back tonight. I was going through some serious boost withdrawls.
I've decided not to ask for compensation. I've instead asked for my warranty to be extended for a full year, and to cover my next 5 services. My dealership is amazing, my service guys are awesome. I don't need money for free. I had a loaner at all times, and my car didn't have to go through the winter, and I saved it about 7,000 miles.
