E63 AMG wagon 2015 - weird chirping noise
Just got this a few days ago and there seems to be a chirping noise when driving at speeds over 40-45. Sounds almost like crickets.
Best to listen with bass turned way down since it drowns out the high pitched noise I am talking about.
I found it is easiest to listen to on a phone - in headphones on my PC I can't hear the noise at all but on no-bass phone speaker the chirp is immediately obvious.

I haven't noticed the chirping demonstrated in the video, though i do hear a wind buffeting noise when driving at speeds with my sun roof open (sounds like a playing card stuck in the spokes of a bicycle wheel). It is not apparent to me when the roof is closed.

I have the same noise on my 2014 E63 Sedan. First thought it was a gap in the window seal causing a whistling noise from the wind but it doesn't happen all the time nor above certain speeds. I am having my dealership install something pertaining to the hood/grill tomorrow and will let you know if that solves the issue. Very annoying though.

Actually dealer had to order some supplemental part for the job-I'll find out tomorrow what exactly it is. However I'd take foam or any type of caulk to stop that damn noise as I'm sure Durask can attest.
Gonna roll the dice and have the Winter tires switched out tomorrow as well. Hopefully no more snow in Chicago this year.

LI88.20-P-058905 Apr14 – e63 wind noises area of bumper/engine hood between 45-80 mph, gap between trim and bumper greater than specified dimension remove front bumper and glue chrome frame to ensure stability.
I'm in Chicago burbs too and was tooling around causing trouble in the e63S before THE SNOWSTORM LOL!!??? Unreal our weather

sc98, did you ever determine the source of your noise? I also drive a 2015 E63s. Have around 1950 miles. Just took it to the dealership to have the rear axle oil changed. I mentioned hearing a sound like like the one you describe. In fact, I also described it as a playing card in the spokes of a bike. My sunroof was not open when I heard the noise. One technician heard the noise but could not find the source. They kept the car over night. Next day, they claimed they could not hear anything and said I was hearing rocks hit the underside of the car. They could not find anything mechanically wrong.

hi - i'm having exact same noise on my two week old e63s wagon. how did they ultimately resolve it? was it: LI88.20-P-058905 Apr14 – e63 wind noises area of bumper/engine hood between 45-80 mph, gap between trim and bumper greater than specified dimension remove front bumper and glue chrome frame to ensure stability.
thanks for any help - am going to dealer next week and this will help me guide them.

I too am experiencing the chirping/whistling noise. For me it presents around 60-70 MPH and when there isn't a car in front on me. I went to the dealer this morning to get the TSB fix referenced elsewhere but was told that after the fix the gap between the grille and the front would actually be larger to the point where one might think the grille wasn't seated properly. They said they did it on a sedan a couple of months ago and the first thing the owner said was "is the grille not pushed in all the way?"
For anyone who's had the fix, what are you seeing re: the gap? I'd rather go with the "official" fix, but for now, I decided to punt and instead, when I get my clear bra in a few weeks, have that go over the existing seam to see if that resolves the issue. I'm also going to put some painters tape over the seam and see if that solves the problem and if yes, then the wrap should solve the problem. Thanks!
