I'm happy to say that a *finally* took delivery of my 2015 E63 S on Tuesday morning. Thanks to Scott (sdg1871) for connecting me with a great dealer in FL, worked a great deal and very happy! I ordered this back in Oct and just took delivery now - most of the delay was due to the Designo Interior color of mystic red. I think it was worth the wait. I ordered with:

I'm coming from a 2012 BMW 550xi - and before that 6 other BMW's including - 325i, 328is, M3, 525iT (wagon baby!), 335i coupe, and 550i (lemoned). I'm a big fan of bimmers - I've been an intructor for the past 10 years up and down the east coast, but they lost me over the last few years. MB def has the edge, IMHO. As this car is my daily driver, I really needed something that has the entire package. LOVE the steering feel, power and grunt of the exhaust - interior quality is top notch. I think the best thing is - when you get in and drive this car - it feels like a special experience. Not too many other non-exotics I can say that about. The only negative is the Command system, but the positives way outweigh the negatives (only one!)

Where are you instructing? Need to take the 507 somewhere and "break it in". I was with the BMW club in Lime Rock for about 4 years, but sort of lost interest there too, sold the 335i and moved on.

Mostly Summit Point and VIR (I'm in DC). Have also driven Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock and Watkins Glen. Used to do it a lot more, but family keeps me away unfortunately, but get to track 3-4x/year.
Ah, well VIR is on my list of tracks to check out. After Monticello and Watkins Glen. If you want, PM the info on the group you instruct with. Still planning the summer out.

My most recent BMW was a 2012 550xi that spent quite sometime at the shop because of the dreaded drivetrain malfunction. I think alot of F10 550i owners have nightmares about the DTM.
There are a couple of things that I think the 550i does better (iDrive & throttle response), but you are right on in saying that the positives greatly outweight the negatives. The rev match on downshift function in S+ is simply intoxicating and yet the car stay quiet in the low rpm range with absolutely no drone. I love this car.

550 has better stereo and tranny than the E63 S but that's it.
Congrats my friend!!! Am so happy for you. It was a long wait for you (we ordered our cars at about the same time but mine came in mid Jan) but I hope it was worth it.

Mirrors were on eBay with great feedback - paid $350 - seller name is performance-bot. Spoiler for on eBay from a dealer who had it listed a few months ago - OEM -$450.

There are great. I found them when I got my mom a new 2014 E350. Ever since have gotten about 5 members very cheap deals in AMGs there (about 4 E63's and a New facelifted CLS63). All but one of thee members were not from Florida (NYC area, DC area and Pittsburgh)

Don't recall exact number but it was many thousands under invoice. Was a leftover 2014. Dealer came in nicely under invoice and then we added thousands in trunk money on top of that.
