RB - upgrade "may" require 20" wheels?
Are you aware if they will fit with 5 twin-spoke E63 wheels?

The rule of thumb for the required wheel size is the rotor size + 4", as an example 390mm = 15.4" + 4" will be 19.5" or 20", so for sure 20" will fit; but depending on the profile some OE or aftermarket 19" wheels may still fit in although it's tight like this installation shown in previous post.

In general we recommend 3mm as the minimum clearance, you may also have to relocate the wheel weight balancer to avoid interference with caliper.

The link is up - Everything you need to tune up and upgrade your brake to S63/S65, when it's done the system will actually be better than S63/S65:

https://www.racingbrake.com/ProductD...Code=MB-IRK-14

All parts are in stock except the caliper adaptors (to space out to 390 from OE's 360mm) need to be made which should take about 2-4 weeks.

Since this thread has the most read on brake for E, so please allow us to summarize our offer below:

Two piece rotors replacement - In this option you just swap your stock rotors (100% bolt on) to RB's light weight track duty 2 pc rotors.

http://www.racingbrake.com/category-s/7264.htm

--------------------

If you have E55

Stock replacement (360x36/330x26):

http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-Two-Pi.../mb-irk-19.htm

Big rotor kits - With this option you can up-size your stock rotors to the same size as S63/S65 as below:
Front: OE 360x36 ---> 390x36
Rear: OE 330x26 ---> 360x26
This kit is similar to what we offer for C63 upgrade to C63 Black series.

You can reuse OE front 6-pot caliper but require a custom made caliper adapter (supplied by RB), and a pair of rear calipers (4-pot also includes in the kit)

http://www.racingbrake.com/ProductDe...Code=MB-IRK-23

This kit would require 20" wheels although some 19" wheels might fit.

------------------------------------

If you have E63 (2010+)

Stock replacement (360x36/360x26):

http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-Two-pi.../mb-irk-21.htm

Big rotor kits - With this option you can up-size your stock rotors to the same size as S63/S65 as below:

Front: OE 360x36 ---> 390x36
Rear: OE 360x26 ---> 360x26 (No change in size)

You can reuse OE front 6-pot caliper but require a custom made caliper adapter (supplied by RB)

https://www.racingbrake.com/ProductD...Code=MB-IRK-14

This kit would require 20" wheels although some 19" wheels might fit.

----------------------------------

Both big rotor kits come with RB ET500 performance street pads, stainless brake lines, and Motul brake fluid for an easy DIY to completely re-new your brake for the best brake performance your E deserves, yet they cost less than fraction of a dealer's typical brake job.

----------------------------------

How about the complete brake kits?

If you are looking for an ultimate brake upgrade by replacing your OE set up to RB. We have them too. Just like we offer for ML63:

The complete RB BBK car kit will cost you less than big rotor kits because you can probably sell your used kits on e-Bay for $2.0-2.5k

BBK for ML63: 390x36 front and 390x30 rear

------------------------------------

Different size rotor kits?

We can also make smaller kits (w/380mm rotors) to fit 19" wheels or a brake kit as large as 432mm (17") like the kits we offer for G55/G63:

https://mbworld.org/forums/g55-amg-w...ke-kits-g.html

Some pictures posted by members who upgrade their OE C63 to RB C63 Black Series:

When your OE brakes are due for replacement, rather than spending ~$5K with the dealer and putting another set of OE replacement which can wear your out again quickly. If you like your E and want to keep for a long time upgrading to RB brakes will make a lot of sense because they perform better and last at least 3 times longer than OE rotors while improving your driving and braking quality.

ONE STONE KILLS TWO BIRDS - Upgrade to BBK as you replace, is the strategy we are proposing here, and we hope it makes sense to your too.

RB is proud to offer various brake replacement/upgrade options to fit your need and budget.

e63amg4life's stock size rotor kits got shipped this Wednesday. Do keep us updated how the installation goes.

Just Remember later on you can always upgrade to a "big" front rotor kit by adding the caliper adaptor and an extra set of 390x36mm rotor.

Thank you for your confidence with RB and we are pretty sure you would be very happy with the total performance improvement on this new rotor kit.

Front bracket

We will be doing fitment test on the front kit this week and will post the result.

Remember this is the kit that allows you to replace and upgrade your front stock size (360x36) to the same big brake as S63/65 at the same time while still keep the use of OE calipers.

The most affordable and instant BBK upgrade for E63, costing only fraction of a dealers' brake job, yet super easy to install yourself simply add the adaptor to spindle to space the caliper up for big rotor. You don't even have to bleed the system.

We have the same offer for C63 upgrading to Black Series. If your E63 brake is due for replacement this brake package exclusively offered by RB.

https://www.racingbrake.com/ProductD...Code=MB-IRK-14

Note: Installing this front BBK you would need a minimum of 19" wheels

Please refer to this in-depth review on installation and how this C63 owner transformed his C63 to a race car and competed with other more "track oriented" built cars.

To All Who Track Their Car

Feel free to PM, call us @714-871-6392, or email us if you have any question.

All parts are in stock, and once the adaptors are completed the kit can be shipped ex-stock.

I sure hope there is a brief video on youtube to show us how to do the replacement (rotor and brake pads) ourselves if it is "super easy" A picture is worth a thousand words.

If you search on Youtube (even on MBWorld or other car forums) there are many of them.

However here is a very good one in E63 sub-fourm by Jon when he replaced his front rotors to RB in 2012.

Thanks for the links. I had worked on pad replacement for other cars before and it was a nightmare to loosen caked-on and rusted parts, and pushed in pistons, etc. Thus links and videos are helpful to lessen the anxiety. Hopefully as the parts come off, things will make more sense as to where the adaptors will go.

Track racers as well as DIYers are finding this caliper pin punch offered by RB very handy and helpful when it comes to brake pad replacement.

Replacing rotor and pad is not as hard as some C63 owners may imagine. Our knowledgeable tech team is on the line (714-871-6392) if you ever need help.

E55/E63 brake upgrade

OE Bracket (Cast steel for 360mm rotor)

RB Bracket (Aluminum alloy for 390mm rotor)

The kit are shipping...

Upgrade (to BBK like S63/S65) as you replace (your E63 stock rotor) while everything (caliper/pad etc.) remain as stock - A sensible and affordable alternative exclusively offered by RB.

I love the RB rotors... They totally transformed the way my car behaved and I could not be happier with them.

Their SS brake lines are absolutely amazing and they are the highest quality units I have seen. I got the "smoked" color SS brake lines so they stand out less when looking underneath the car.

The rotating unsprung mass reduction has massive positive effect on everything the car does.

I also love my RB rotors, they feel fantastic and you can really feel the difference. I wish I waited for the 390mm rotors for the front, I may still do it when they come out

Although these brackets were just posted up, but the BBK have been shipping...

So far we have shipped two kits, and one customer is considering...

All we can say is once you upgrade to this kit, your brake will be performing even better than S63/S65 or C63 Black Series that originally come with the same rotor size, due to the light weight rotors and RB brake pads come with the kit for a low dust and excellent stopping power and modulation.

Don't just replace, upgrade to RB BBK at the same time!!! The kit costs only fraction of a dealer's brake job, installation is so easy just like swapping your used rotors - You don't even have to bleed the brake system.

Here is a most recent review by a C63 customer converted to the same big rotor set up.
.....What a difference! WOW! Brake pedal catch is about 2" in and hard as a rock. Rebedded them this morning and holy s*** do these things stop FAST. The negative g's from slowing down is really amazing to be honest. Nice and smooth action too, and the bite is pretty vicious - easy to modulate, but when you step on them the car WILL stop. I have the XT970's and they make a bit of noise when cold, but it's really very minimal.

RacingBrake - you guys really have outdone yourself here. The kit is absolutely PERFECT. Perfect fit, finish, quality, etc. I just couldn't be happier. Well, if I had done this sooner I would have caught the end of the season, and it looks like I've pretty much missed it now, but I know I'll be in great shape come spring. THANKS
(big thanks to Wobble as well for pointers along the way )....
