here is a pic of my install. Black box fixed to heatshield by the ABS module... held with velcro... but I added some tiewrap to hold the velcro cause it was slipping due to the heat. If you find a better location please share!
No idea how you guys get at the boost sensor along the back wall!
Bought a foot long set of needle noses and screwdriver and after forever digging at it eventually just broke the little clip off it that locks it in place.
Wondering if there is any other way to get at it.
did u remove the black wire retainer in the back of the engine? It is removed by pushing with a scredriver from underneath on the tab that holds it in place. It will give you more room to work. Also use a camping type headlight (petzl) that you can position in the back of the engine to see what you are doing. Dont worry about the retaining clip. We broke one on SilveRT's car and it holds fine. You can alway add a pit of electrical tape to secure it.
Wondering if the tuning box itself is removed but the cables are all left attached if the car will operate as normal?
Thinking that if a service tech is ever to see something that looks out of place it might be the box.

If you remove box you need to plug in bypass. If you do a good wire routing the tech will need to have a keen eye to see something different. Make sure your wires are not touching any hot metal surfaces. I melted the sleeve on one of mine on my beta install... fixed with electrical tape but better not to do it!!
