Happy To Report AMS Turbo Baby
and the alpha 9 package is about 10K.... about what most e55 guys pay for headers, pulleys, h/e, trunk tank, tune, and TB it takes to get a e55 to same mph
with better traction this car is probably in low 10's
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
When I first started to tune my E63, there are members that have tuned their beast, but wasn't the route I wanted to go so I was getting some of the information I needed from the forum and other times I just play by ear.
I see members on this forum whom wanted the tune, but was afraid to void the warranty or the tune will go bad. I thought it was a good way to communicate.
Not insecure nor showing off. There are allot more better E63 on this forum and on the road. I think this forum is a great way to share, communicate our cars or I as many of you wouldn't be on this forum as offten as we are.
The car bogs down literally for the first few seconds. Look at the 1/8th mile times and you can see that 200 HP additional make little difference. Mercedes has and always will aim for reliability, an this is mainly because of the amount of TQ which affects the gearbox.allot of the tuners will tell you that they can change the TQ numbers but they can't through the RPM range until we crack he ECU. if that happens you would see 1500HP E63s with big turbos all day long. I know of two separate ppl working on a custom motec setups but they can't get it to work and giving up..
in the end the 5.5TT should be a phenomenal platform for uber numbers. but until they crack the ECU or get a standalone to work it will always be limited by the safety MB placed on the system. none of the tuners will admit to it.. and yes i had driven or owned tunes from all of the top 4. until they get their hands on an "enigma machine" they can only turn it up so far with the limitations they have

Also the Alpha9 e63 2wd was ran in scortching July heat etc.. The 135 Trap shows it's capable of the same basement 10's w/a similar 60' in favorable DA weather..
Now the E63 AWD model w/ECU & exhaust only, again in Summer DA w/100% humidity runs 10.85 @ 129+mph What does a 10 yr old e55 w/ECU/dwn pipes/catback run? 12.5 -12.0 @112-117 mph
The new V8 Biturbo's are leagues ahead period..

and people also forget that these e55s running low 10's are in full drag gear (MT drag radials, skinny's up front, weight reduction, etc...), not same setup they are running on the street....on street tires and on imperfect asphalt they will be lucky to run in the 11's (i could never get my e55 to run anywhere near as fast on the street as it did on the sticky track with sticky track tires) whereas the e63 awd's are running 10's on street tires will run pretty consistent on the street to what they did at the track....something to think about when others are looking at dragtimes

their tune for this engine is with a 6.0 liter increase in size...so it should be most powerful but never seen one run...mythical

go with the R888's instead... I have run both and the R888's stick way better for straight line acceleration and good out of the box, while the RA1's need to be shaved down the 5/32's tread depht to really work good.
and due to the tread pattern of the RA1's they are a lot more squirmy under hard acceleration than the R888's
they both last about the same 4 to 6K miles on street since they are both competition R compound tires
