opinions on my purchase,2011 e63 vs. 2011 cts-v, what to do ?
Hi all, I'm in the market for a car and its down to these 2. cts-v has 43000 miles and 2 years of warranty, e63 has 53000 miles and 2 years of warranty. Opinions are welcome, what do you think ?thanks

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
E63...we're all biased here since we all had similar choices back then. Higher interior fit and finish inside. Just run the vin to make sure it doesn't have the headbolts problem.
BTW, how does the E63 still have 2 years of warranty left? It must have had a really late in-service date. Unless it's CPO+factory extended warranty.

Yes it did end. My 2011 was built late in 2010 and does not have the head bolt issue. Some early 2011 e63s have the head bolt problem.
issue affects all M156 engines, up to engine serial number 569xx 60 060658

So it sounds like I am safe from this issue. Thanks.
I do get a mild lifter tapping now and then though. Fairly weird has no logical pattern to it.

Replacement is not easy, I had two new Benz' replaced/refunded back to back without the use of attorneys... It requires a lot of patience, artful use of words, and the right type of problem and an advocate at your dealership. If you are missing anyone of these pieces then forget it.
