I have some old lexol lying around, may try it out on a small part of the seat.

I've been searching through auction sites trying to find a wrecked one that i could pull that piece off of. I agree, i refuse to pay $400+/- for that piece when one of a wrecked one should not be in bad shape, considering the location of the piece.

I wanted to ditch the bulb in the reflector and just paint them white, but one of the reflectors is cracked so painting that one white would look silly. I guess im goiing to go with the clear reflectors. I see the ones on ebay, just wasn't sure if there was a better option out there

Keyless go tends to use your key battery more. So it is frequent to have to replace them. Almost every year for me.
If you remove the bulb of the side markers you'll get a fault message. The only way to disable would be to do some little electric modification or put a dummy load. Or just attach them on the inside of the bumper cover.
Or just go for clear ones

yeah as soon as i pulled out of the dealer it said "key batteries low". Went and picked up a pack of them, threw the extra in the glovebox. I believe i am going to get the clear reflectors. But at the moment, im ordering parts for my 2000 impala hahaha. Trying to get it all fixed up and sell it to someone around tax season. I've almost fixed every problem on it, and dont have much money in it at all so it should give me some money to pocket. Then im on the hunt for a wrecked 2003-06 silverado extended cab, 4wd, going to fix it up. I will level it, colormatch the whole front end, and put some OEM 2015 silverado wheels on it, maybe in a 22". just to have an older beater truck. love those old things, such solid trucks. i know a few with 500,000 miles, still rolling around town every day. Honestly, besides the power of the 6.2, the AWD, the looks, and the interior OPTIONS.... i liked my 2003 silverado so much more than my Denali, in terms of quality

Have you used?...

With your experience, you probably have come across them already. I have used them more than a few times in the past. Just send out the request and they will e-mail you with prices. You pick one and the piece will get sent to you.

I agree. That stuff is incredible. You won't believe how clean they get with this stuff.

For the leather, Leatherique is the absolute best.

I don't know of you saw it in the posts also, but always use OEM oil filters. They aren't paper filters, and hold up very well. According to my service advisor, they have taken off filters that weren't OEM, and they were literally empty. The engine sucked the paper of the filter right out of it.

Wow, actually never used or heard of junkyard dog. WOuld have helped greatly in the search for a front bumper on my truck. I put in a request with them. Where do i find that P21 soap? Online, or is there a store around?

I just bought a new filter and crush ring when i was picking the car up, got it from the dealer the car was always serviced at. Probably just going to run these wheels with these tires until the tires wear out then get some nicer 20's and a little more meaty tire. Not really sure what i want to do to the car right now... hmm

Nice photos of a very nice car. Enjoy it, and give it TLC. The E63 AMG gives it's driver a lot of smiles per mile.

And keep up with this thread. Please post all the stuff you repair so we can have an idea the things that go wrong as the mileage climbs with these W212 chassis as well as the 6.2l (assuming no tappets, bolts or lifter issues, cos those are already well known)

Oh i will for sure.

Is it somewhat normal for these cars to occasionally pop up, "key not detected"? I usually just pull it out of my pocket and wave it at the dash, i know that probably doesn't do anything but it feels like it should. Lol. It's only happened three times since i got it, comes up for about 5-10 seconds

I've put around 2,000 miles on the car since i got it. Love it more every time i drive it.

I hate to ask, feel like such a newbie asking stuff like this (which i am)

What size tire could i fit in the rear with a 20x10 wheel? And what offset wheel would i need? I want something a little wider than what is on the car now, it just seems like too much wheel is poking away from the sidewall as is. I just want a slightly more aggressive stance in the rear than it is now. I am again, totally clueless on this stuff coming from trucks. Plus on the truck i didn't mind doing a little cutting and welding of the body to make those tires fit... would not dare do that on an AMG

Key not detected is a sign the key fob battery is weak. I get that about every 8 months or so. My Hyundai Genesis does the same thing. A new fob battery is all that is needed.

Ok cool.

Going to clay bar and wax the whole car today. Did hood fender and one door last night and picked up alot of dirt with the clay bar. The p21s soap got most of the carbon off, but it was not easy at all lol

Two more questions about the a/c. I was told there is a drain for the a/c, supposedly the Condensate builds up in here. Where would I find this drain, and also where is the cabin filter? I saw a box on the firewall that I think covers the battery, it seems like it could possibly be hiding in there

Probably not what you're looking for, but figured I post some past threads to show that Cutting and Welding does happens on AMG's, just not as common, especially on the E Class. Not having enough room for wider tires in the rear fenders has been a weak spot for Mercedes for quite some time.

Man that looks so good. I believe i don't have the ***** (or money) to let someone do that to my car haha.

Thanks for the cabin filter video. Will be checking that out when i get some time.

I'm not sure when i do wheels if i want a brush silver finish, or the brushed titanium finish offered from stance wheels

Ok I know these cars are pretty picky with LED replacement bulbs... What's a good quality bulb for the license plate leds? Morimoto maybe?

I have purchased my small LED lamps from Amazon. Just make sure they are canbus compatible for European cars. They been in my car for a few years and are still working fine.

Didn't know they had that. Will definitely look Into the factory ones

Ok so I found a minor issue on the car. There's a slight bit of play in the steering wheel. Feels as if it is close to the steering wheel, not down near the wheels if that makes any sense. Here's a video

Just ordered clear side markers and some CANBUS 194 led bulbs from superbrightleds. As I understand, the canbus bulbs shouldn't throw any codes? Just doing the side markers, and all 4 of the bulbs in the doors at the bottom

Sounds like the splines at the steering wheel to me.
Can you pull and push the steering wheel towards/away from you and does it make the same noise?
