Capristo Exhaust
Was just browsing around and it seems like Capristo now makes an adjustable exhaust for the E63. Does anyone on this forum have this exhaust or is thinking about getting one? Would be interested in the results.

I was actually looking at this a few months ago, but they don't make it for the RWD. I do like the idea to be able to turn the exhaust valves on and off as needed.

I got Capristo exhaust on my car. I must say its best what you can get. Sound is as brutal as you might think. Sound is more like catless exhaust. You can hear loud turbo spools. Worth every penny.

That is great to know. Do you mind me asking where you are based? Also, does the exhaust drone at highway speeds with the valves off (under 2000 rpm)? Thanks!

When valves are closed there is no drone and on highspeed it sound even quieter than E200. You have to adjust exhaust in right position so there wouldn't be a drone inside, we made few attempts. I have uploaded videos on YouTube.however there are already few if you search for it.

Thanks for the info. One more question. Do you have any sort of downpipes installed on your car. If you do, are they cat-less or catted? Thanks again!

I see Vivid Racing has chimed in already, they are one of our biggest dealers and we highly recommend them. We DO make the E63 for RWD also.

I made my decision to install the Capristo exhaust on my E63s due to those and... well, words can't really express the "wow-effect" I got when I saw the exhaust and the constant smile on my face after the first drive. If there is anything, anything that makes an AMG sound like a true AMG beast - that's Capristo.

I have added on top weistec true downpipes, ECU remapped with high overfuel. It moved sound to the next level. I think all 12k $ invested in exhaust are worth it.

What's the appeal of the aftermarket exhaust on the W212 E63? Is it just sound? If it's performance, unless you're trying to make a ton of HP, I can't see a logical reason to swap exhausts. The stock AMG sport exhaust is excellent. I mean really good. It sounds good too. Just wondering why people like changing an already very good exhaust, it's not holding you back.

I think adding downpipes (I was looking at RADO ones) will be way too loud for my taste in open mode (personal preference). As for getting cold - I live in Cyprus, it's never cold in here... we're cooking @ 50C+ now in the sun And as for city-cycle TUV mode - that's only for Germany; for the rest of EU - that's not applicable, so valves stay open as long as I want them to.

After certain time, when car is off, valves are closing as well.

Yeap, mine CES-3 is set-up in a way that valves stay open if I want them to stay open all the time; no 50 km/h 30 sec rule applicable. I was communicating directly with Martin @ Capristo in Germany prior to order and he answered all my questions in detail, including city-cycle and TUV. At night time I go quiet mode myself anyway; kids and all.
